I'm also going to make this a quick one. Because I'm supposed to go in for surgery the end of June early July (they still haven't given me a date) I want to have something to read when I get home and am recovering. I will have my kids home with me so they will also be keeping me company. I just have to keep them occupied lol. And since it's summer and most kids are home and we have to keep them occupied. If your kids aren't old enough to read yet, or can't than you can either print it out and sit with them at bed time or quiet time and read it to them and show them the pictures. Or do the same with them on your lap in front of the computer. Or just enjoy it yourself.
I really hope this turns out. :-)

Heather,

This is a smashing idea…what a fun way to get the kids interested in geography and such…as a home school mom…I must say…you’re brilliant!!!

Thanks you for hosting this swap, and GOOD luck with your surgery, Carrie

Hi Carrie, Thank You for your kind words. If you read my pro, usually everything is about my kids. I'm on postcrossing.com also. I also made my kids an account there. So it goes in the order that they send that they get in return. Like my youngest sent out 2 cards. The first two that arrived are her's. Which go the other two really moving lol. They love getting them from all over the world. And they love sitting on the computer and looking them up. I'm not a homeschool teacher but I have been teaching them since day one. And usually during the summer's I have already bought the books for the next year for them to work out of at the teachers stores. I spend lot's of time there before summer hits. lol I hope they don't hate me when they get older.lol

Oh I don't know if I should join this or not. But I have joined postcrossing.com today.

Hi Heather Be careful with postcrossing.com. I am learning, it's full of flakers too. Before I send a card now I make sure they have a good sent and received list. And I check when the last time they have logged in. I had a girl that hadn't logged in since she joined last year and than the was one that hadn't logged in since Jan. Than there are people who send one or two cards and never log any that they received so than it sit's there for 60 days before it expires and you can't mail another one out until that expiration date. I've learned there is lot's to look for. And with it costing so much now if they don't have good sent and receives I don't even both sending them anything. They aren't going to log it in and than after so long they get dumped. Make up a new name and use the same address and start all over again. The whole time they are getting cards. The owner of the whole thing has written in reply to a couple emails I sent him. He's kinda rude but, what do you say when it's a free service and the poor guy has a family to take care of his own and he did this for fun. So we all have to be careful in using it. It's a wonderful thing and I will continue to send cards through there but only to those actually using the service correctly. If you need any better details you can email me. I'm just trying to give a rough draft. HeatherS and we'd love to have you here:-)

Well we each have 3 partners. Swap-bot took care of it even though it states 5 partners. So if anyone want's to send extras for hearts go for it. I must have too stict or too much for my cards cause everyone else has more than 10 ppl sign up for theres. lol I'll try again in a couple months.

brandigirl72 06/11/2007 #

Debbie,

I have you in a couple swaps. This one and Chow down in your town....lol...I think swapbot wants us to be really good friends...lol

Invisible 06/12/2007 #

brandiredding72, Debbie H, and HeatherS, I wanted to say that I have been looking for a specific post card for two weeks now...I have two more places to look then I'll head out to the airport...it was the last place I saw it...so I have not forgotten about you and they will be mailed no later than Friday. Sorry for the wait, Carrie

Craftlover10101 06/13/2007 #

Carrie, if it's for me please don't drive all that way and gas money. I think any of us would say it's the thought that counts. But I'm sure none of us would want you go go through gas money just for a post card. Hugs HeatherS BTW yes I still need to reply to that wonderful email you sent lol kick me later k it's almost end of school

Invisible 06/14/2007 #

HeatherS I found the postcard I wanted...at Walgreens...of all places. I was going to look at the airport tomorrow because I hve to go there anyway...that's why I was waiting until Friday.

But all are in the mail...no need to look at the airport...just pick up my nephew and come home.

craftemom 06/14/2007 #

Hello Ladies HeatherS I received all 3 from you...just call me Bebbie! I'll change my name just for you...hehe!

Brandi, I thought we already determined we were best pals by now! I guess we need to be better aquainted still. LOL! I never get tired of hearing from you though. Your a great swap partner!

I too am on postcrossing and have just now got my first person that isn't checking their received cards in or signing in. But then if we judge them and don't send to them (even though what we really want to do is ignore them...like they do others)doesn't that make us just as bad? I guess it's a matter of personal ethics and choices. There is no right answer and I agree, I'd love to just wait 60 days and not send to them, but I agreed to send to those assigned to me and let postcrossing weed out the bad ones. So I just send a card I most likely wouldn't send to anyone (the ones people send just to get rid of them, or cards I have been given, found at garage sales etc that I won't use because of age of card or it's just one I hate.) THAT way I have done what I agreed to do when I signed up. It's just my way of dealing with people like that.

Ok lecture over! (It's the mom in me...lol)

Craftlover10101 06/14/2007 #

LOL Oh Bebbie lol oh I can't stop laughing. Debbie your helarious. You know it took me a few min. to figure out what you wrote in my rating was all about lol. That's even a worse disease. And too tired to spell. Um oh yeah you had an excellent idea with the post crossing. I think I just might do that. But it stinks that it cost's a buck almost to please them that aren't pleasing anyone else. lol But you are right, I signed up for it. lol So I can see both sides of the stick. Anyway my husband apparently tried to fix our tub from dripping and I found a soaked wall and dirt half circle outside today where on the other side is my tub. HMMMM yes he fixed it, and good. Had to call his buddy over he'd been here for four hours. We hope it worked or we'll have to go through the outter wall to fix it again. ugh, I have a huge hole in the side of my fiberglass tub now.

brandigirl72 06/18/2007 #

Mailed my cards out today. I know I am late but I had much, much family drama here. :(

Craftlover10101 06/22/2007 #

Brandi, I know what is going on and it's not a problem for me. I have had tons and tons of drama here so it's ok. Thoughts and prayers have been going out to you since I spoke with you.
Bunches of Love and Hugs btw i love the cards and they are perfect thank you
