How this Swap Came to Be

I have a habit with gum - and it has nothing to do with blowing bubbles or chewing loudly. For the past five years or so, I've been peeling the foil of wrappers and rubbing it onto my notebooks. This has always been done out of boredom, but I've been recently pleased to discover that this makes for a fun, unusual way to make ATCs.
And so, I'm sharing my joy with you!

For You to Do

Each participant makes one ATC for one partner. Each ATC should be made from parts of Chewing Gum packaging; this includes boxes, paper wrappers, foil wrappers, etc. (Please do not use the gum itself, that is not a mess anyone wants to contend with).
Feel free to use other supplies you have lying around, or limit it to just the packaging to create a challenge for yourself.
The subject matter is entirely up to the artist, but feel free to look at your partner's page to see what they like.
You have two weeks to make + send, please let me know if this is not enough time and I can extend the deadline!
If the card you receive makes you go "Cool!" give it a heart!

Please Notice

New members are welcome to join with a well-filled-out profile.
Those who have received 1's or 3's in the past 6 months may not join (I will check for this), sorry. This is the first swap I host and I'd like it to go well ;)
Please remember to rate your swap partner!

As Your Host

As your host I will respond to all message and emails, as well as anything posted on this page. I will be sending out a reminder email on the eve of the final swap send date.

A Few Ideas

While messing around with gum packaging, I've come up with some ideas and techniques...

Foil Peels

If you have a foil on paper gum wrapper (like in Wrigley's gum), try crumbling it up a few times, then peeling the foil off. The peeled foil can then be rubbed on to paper/cardstock/etc. with a fingernail. This technique is great for random, messy triangular shapes.

Foil Shapes

Foil on paper wrappers can be cut into cleaner shapes with an exacto knife, or you could try rubbing foil peels on shapes you've already cut out.

Use of Words

Cut out phrases and words from the packaging to use in a collage or pattern, or make a silly quote with them.

I highly recommend sealing your ATCs (perhaps with Mod Podge) so foil/other small pieces do not come off.

Well, that's all I've got for now! Hope ya'll have fun!
