Description:

I have recently fallen in love with Zentangles and thought it would be fun to have ATC swaps with these delicious mini art works.

While I have seen Zentangles done in black and white traditionally, I thought it would be fun to do some in colors. I am going to have a series of these so that we can get many different colors.

If you don't know what a Zentangle is, you can go here to find out: http://www.zentangle.com/about-what-is--1.php

Also, you can look at the Flickr group: http://www.flickr.com/groups/zentangle/

A few tips for Zentangles:

You can use any type of pen, but I have found that a very fine tipped pen, such as a Micron, works best.

Any design is welcome. This is YOUR art, and art can not nor should be restricted.

Any type of paper will work; however, since this is an ATC swap I do ask that you use a cardstock weight as a base for your Zentangle.

Now for the nitty gritty:

This will be an international swap since it is a flat item. You will create 1 (ONE) Zentangle for 1(ONE) partner. ATC must be the appropriate size (2.5x3.5). The color orange MUST be present in the ATC, whether it is a orange ATC base, orange pen, etc.

Please, no recent no sends or flakers. I will be checking profiles before assigning partners to verify this. This is Newbie-friendly, but please insure that you have a well filled out profile. If you don't intend to follow through with your commitments please do not sign up. I will Angel if necessary, but please don't make it necessary. No one likes a flaker.

I will do my best to answer any questions in a timely manner :)

Hi Can you do the Zentangle in the shape of something eg butterfly, owl etc Cheers Samantha

Yup! As long as it is an ATC (3.5x2.5) you can draw whatever you want on the ATC. Does that make sense? Does that help?

Are you saying the ink is to be the color or the paper or both? I note that you mention the type of pen you find to work best, but that got me thinking. Since most zentangles are (as you said) black ink on white paper, do you mean orange ink on white paper, or black ink on orange paper, or orange ink on whatever color paper you want? I love your idea for a series like this and applaud you for taking on the coordinator duties/responsibility but want to make sure I 'get it right' ~~ thanks ~~

You can do orange ink on white paper, or black ink on orange paper, or even orange on whatever color you want. You can do orange on orange. Just orange must be in there somehow....whether it is the paper or the pen or both. I personally did mine with an orange pen on white paper.

Hope that helps!
