I'm a retiree who was very fortunate to be able to retire when I was 56. . . I don't miss going to work at all and now spend my days doing the things I never had time to do when I was working!!! Moved to VA from southern CA 14 years ago and love the 'seasons' here, something southern CA does not have. Have 2 pomeranians, one that is 9 yrs and one that just turned a year old -- yes I did get another one of the yappy little dogs!
I'm pretty much a country gal and like all of the country singers, but also enjoy classical, pop, rock, and music from the 60s.
I always have a book going. . . reading has been my friend since I was a little girl! Favorite authors include Janet Evanovich, Sue Grafton, Nora Roberts, Faye Kellerman, Fern Michaels, James Patterson, Philip Craig, Robert Parker, Jill Churchill, Donna Andrews, Kinky Friedman, Linda Lael Miller, and Debbie Macomber to name a few. I love the book swaps and haven't received one that I didn't enjoy and have 'found' some new authors which is always exciting!
Enjoy good comedies, dramas and thrillers. . . favs include My Cousin Vinny, Best in Show, On Golden Pond, The Big Lebowski, Butch Cassidy & the Sundance Kid, Lonesome Dove, USual Suspects, and am continually adding to my Clint Eastwood collection.
Hate to miss The Office, Mental, or In Plain Sight. . . also enjoy HGTV and Animal Planet, as well as the oldies on Turner Classic Movies. . .and Law & Order is one that I can always watch and it doesn't make a difference if I've seen it or from which L&O series it's from.
I've caught the ATC bug and love making them for others, as well as making postcards (another 'thing' I've gotten into). I always had something going craft-wise from embroidery as a child, to crochet and needlepoint as a young adult, to tole painting, counted cross-stitch, altered art, scrapbooking, card making, and making themed room boxes as an adult. I created a 54 page scrapbook for my brother's 65th birthday of his life in pictures last year and also crochet baby caps for Save the Children. . . and I am continually working on a dollhouse that I received as a gift a year ago. My pride & joy is a 19" X 24" counted cross-stitch on 28-count linen -- it was my first project on linen and she came out beautful with lots of beading in her wings -- it was a 6-month project but well worth it.
I don't really have a favorite color --- they're all pretty for different reasons. . .orange is a great color but wouldn't want an entire room in orange. That's my problem with colors -- I like them all!!!
Likes: Anything that is hand-made or purchased by someone who put thought into what they're doing and who it's for -- nothing worse than getting 'stuff' that seems to be an after-thought or no thought at all!!! I'm pretty easy when it comes to things I like. . .and with the exception of the dislikes I listed, there really is little that I don't like for one reason or another. My family and friends have always said I'm the easiet person to give to or buy for because I have so few dislikes. Dislikes: Kawaii and sci-fi. . . just don't 'get' it. Also dislike teddy bears, cutesy stuff, perfumes and scented candles (have asthma so they really bother me!), gory or distasteful things. Postcards: Any and all as I really have no preferences ~~ if you like it, I will too!
I collect faeries (not cutesy ones) and have a varied collection ranging from tiny pewter ones and blown glass to paintings and etchings. I have collected Peter Pan things since I was a little girl. . . I do NOT collect Tinkerbell although many people seem to think I do --- they don't understand that although Tink is a part of the Peter Pan story, she is NOT Peter Pan!!! Suppose it's because I also collect faeries and Peter Pan is hard to find but Tink is everywhere these days. . . I have been given some very bad Tink stuff, but I always give a big thank you with a smile --- my friends do try and it's the thought that counts!!!
I try to be fair with my ratings and recognize that not everyone has the same abilities, style, or likes/dislikes. I give hearts for high quality work, using new or different techniques and when it is obvious that a person has put thought and effort into what they have sent ~~ I do not give hearts for poor quality work or because extras are included, and I don't expect to receive any extras. I may or may not put extras in with what I send ~ I expect to be rated on my work, not any extras I may include.

Wishing you a Happy November Birthday from Raven and the Monthly ATC Swappers Group
Gloria, I forgot to mention that I really like the zodiac coin/charm you sent with the ATC. I haven't figured out what to do with it yet, but am enjoying thinking about it. Thanks for sending it with the lovely ATC.
Gloria, im so greatful for the scrapbooking items you have given me out of kindness and I am so excited and overwhelm with everything. Many thank-you's.
Gloria, DH received your fabulous package of cinnamon gum today. He was so excited and happy it was like watching a kid at Christmas. He has been sick and really down lately and it certainly pepped up his day. Can't thank you enough. If there is something special you would like from Australia just ask and I'll see what I can do for you. Thanks Linda
