I'm a retiree who doesn't miss going to work at all and now spend my days doing the things I never had time to do when I was working!!! I live with my 'sig other' who I've been with for 16 years now ~ how time flies!! I have one son who lives in Maine and no grandchildren for me. We have a black-and-tan pomeranian that is 4 yrs old and is a real joy for us ~ she definitely has her own personality and is so cute and so funny and always brings smiles to our faces : )

I primarily do ATCs, inchies, and cards although I have joined other types of swaps. I am certainly not an artist but enjoy stretching my mind in the creativity area. Years ago I wrote short stories (for my eyes only) and wrote long, long letters to my friends and family - they all said I should be a writer because of my descriptive letters but never felt creative enough (lack of confident?).

I collect faeries and have a varied collection ranging from tiny pewter ones and blown glass to paintings and etchings. I have collected Peter Pan things since I was a little girl. . . I do NOT collect Tinkerbell although many people seem to think I do --- they don't understand that although Tink is a part of the Peter Pan story, she is NOT Peter Pan!!! Suppose it's because I also collect faeries and Peter Pan is hard to find but Tink is everywhere these days. . . I have been given some very bad Tink stuff, but I always give a big thank you with a smile --- my friends do try and it's the thought that counts!!!

I'm pretty much a country gal and like all of the country singers, but also enjoy classical, pop, rock, and music from the 60s.

I always have a book going. . . reading has been my friend since I was a little girl! Favorite authors include Faye Kellerman, Fern Michaels, James Patterson, Philip Craig, Robert Parker, Jill Churchill, Donna Andrews, and Kinky Friedman name a few, and I'm always looking for new authors. I enjoy going to bookstores or Target and finding books by new authors and have found many that I like.

Enjoy good comedies, dramas and thrillers. . . favs include My Cousin Vinny, Best in Show, On Golden Pond, The Big Lebowski, Butch Cassidy & the Sundance Kid, Lonesome Dove, Usual Suspects, and am continually adding to my Clint Eastwood collection.

I can watch any Law & Order or Criminal Minds regardless of how old they are. I also enjoy Blue Bloods, Vegas, Boston's Finest, Amazing Race, Undercover Boss, and DWTS (love the dancing!). . . guess you can tell I like good-guy cop shows!!! I hope Rizzoli &Isles and The Glades return but for now I'm enjoying the mini-season of The Following - very creepy and wonder how it will all turn out ~

I love all PCs and really have no preferences although I do have some collections (see below). I enjoy PCs of covered bridges, touristy/unusual attractions, famous people, interesting architecture, old buildings as well as multi-views from both the US and foreign countries ~ it is my way of traveling! I have no problem with nudity in good taste but do not care for Disney or cutesy PCs.

I have all of the State Mapcards so now am collecting State Bird (state and bird only) and State Flowers (state and flower only) and State Flags (Flag only or with the State seal) and State Capitol Buildings ~ see my list below.

Other Mapcards: I have many mapcards from other areas/countries (too many to list) and always enjoy getting them.

I must admit that I love receiving all postcards regardless of the type ~ I find them so interesting for various reasons and have never been disappointed in any postcard I've received!

I don't really have a favorite color --- they're all pretty for different reasons. . .that's my problem with colors -- I like them all!!!

Likes: Anything that is hand-made or purchased by someone who put thought into what they're doing and who it's for -- nothing worse than getting 'stuff' that seems to be an after-thought or no thought at all!!! My family and friends have always said I'm the easiet person to give to or buy for because I have so few dislikes.

Dislikes: Kawaii and sci-fi. . . just don't 'get' it. Also dislike teddy bears, cutesy stuff, perfumes and scented candles (strong smells really bother me!), gory or distasteful things.

I try to be fair with my ratings and recognize that not everyone has the same abilities, style, or likes/dislikes. I give hearts for high quality work, using new or different techniques and when it is obvious that a person has put thought and effort into what they have sent ~~ I do not give hearts for poor quality work or because extras are included. Although it is a nice thought and gesture, I do not need any extras as I have so much of everything that I will never use it all! I may or may not put extras in with what I send ~ I expect to be rated on my work, not any extras I may include.
