Description:

Make two envelopes each, for two partners. These can be made out of anything, but need a literary theme, and need to be able to be used to send a letter, ATC, or something small. They need to meet postal requirements... I typically open a regular envelope up and use that as a template. Have fun!!

This sounds fun and I have a nice idea. Could you please explain your postal requirements about size etc, so I now that there is no problem

hollycm6 11/22/2009 #

Sure... according to this site (and I hope I am sending this link correctly!) US postal regulations the minimum size of a letter shall be 5in x3 1/2 in, and the maximum (to stay within the 44 cent rate) shall be to 11 1/2in x 6 1/8in. I think I have those right. The easiest way I know to get my envelopes accurately sized is just to carefully open one that I like on its seams, and use it as a template. I have found some have shapes which require a large piece of paper, and others, the same size, are shaped to fit on a traditional 8 1/2x 11 sheet when unfolded. (so I choose those!)

yay, I got the link right! But I did have to redo it, as I did it wrong the first time. :(

Watching right now, because I have to much going at the moment, but see if I can join by the sign-up date. Anyway, that should be an easy projekt. So just to be sure: its two envelopes to two partners = 4 envies to make, right?

hollycm6 11/23/2009 #

Yes, that's right. :)

Can you give me a few examples of what type of paper I would use to make these envelopes?
