Description:

lets send pastel/Easter type yarn, ribbon to each other to make a rapunzel scarf. would like it to be light weight as Spring is here, try to have at least half of what you send be ribbon or light weight yarn. We will have 3 partners and will send 10, 10 foot lengths of ribbon and yarn to each other. A rapunzel scarf is knotted, braided and then knotted on the other end.

does this mean ten ribbon and ten yarn, a total of 20 to each partner?

Hippiechick1955 03/ 3/2010 #

A total of (10) to each partner. 10 ten foot lengths. The swap hostess is saying that we should try to send at least (5) 10 foot lengths of ribbon and (5) 10 foot lengths of light weight yarn as this is a spring/Easter theme.

These are so fun. Hope you will join us.

Are we supposed to go ahead and braid it, or let our partner braid it when they receive it? Just wondering whether the Rapunzel Scarf is supposed to be completed before being mailed.

hmm... are they 10 different types/colors of yarn and ribbon? i'd prefer a variety. thanks!

If someone can tell me how to add a picture to a post, I can post a photo or two of completed Rapunzel Scarves.

@LadyStephanie

You do not braid the pieces that you send. You just send the 10 lenghts of yarn, ribbon or fabic strip.

You have three partners. You send out 10 lengths to each partner. When you have received your 10 lengths from each of your 3 partners, YOU will them braid your 30 lengths together that you have received. I always start off my knotting all 30 lengths together at the end and then I use each group from each of my 3 partners as a "rope" and braid the three ropes together. As each partner had pretty much sent different items, the end result is very pretty. When I am finishes with the braiding, I knot again at the opposite end to keep it from unraveling.

thank u hippiechick for explaining it all, looks like you did a great job, a total of 10, 10 foot lengths, 5 are ribbon or light weight yarn, when you get all 30 lengths, divide them into 3- ten foot lengths and braid them. It will be beautiful
