You will have TWO partners and you will make both partners FOUR inchies each.

Inchies are miniture pieces of art. The inchies must be 1" x 1" and sturdy on completion. Please put effort into your inchies and make something you be proud to receive. A sticker on a piece of card is NOT acceptable.

Inchies can be made by drawing, painting, collage, or even sewing etc so get your thinking cap on and get creative!!

Take a look at flickr for examples of Inchies.

SIGN UP RULES - please read before joining.

•By joining the swap, you agree to making quality inchies which will be posted on time. Non senders will be banned from future swaps.

•I reserve the right to ban anyone from the swap if I feel they will not be able to fulfil the swap. (I will drop people just before assigning partners if required).

•No flakers! If you see a known flaker sign up, please let me know and I will contact them. I'd rather lose a flaker than a bunch of good swappers.

•No recent unexplained 1s or 3s.

•Note this is an International Swap - you may get an overseas partner!

•Finally - everyone should have fun! If you are having any problems completing the swap please email me and your partners BEFORE the mail by date, so we can resolve any issues.

Do I leave the inchies loose or do I mount them to some typing of backing?

racheljohnson 05/24/2010 #

I just featured this swap on the blog here. THanks for hosting an awesome swap for beginners!

PC 05/24/2010 #

are the four inchies supposed to coordinate with one another?

doublesided 05/24/2010 #

@lkbs the inchies must be sturdy when finished so use thick card as a base (old cereal boxes are a good cheap option!). I use chipboard as a base for mine, but thats just because it finishes them off in my opinion! I leave my inchies loose, some people stick them to thin card for posting purposes, but they shouldn't be permanently stuck down. Did I explain ok!

@Racheljohnson thanks for advertising the swap!

@PC the inchies do not need to coordinate - the theme is completely up to you! Make four that go or four totally different

Can my inchies be made of felt?I sew little square felt pieces together to make designs and pictures.

doublesided 05/25/2010 #

Yes @Heidijo you can make them of felt - Im amazed at how talented some poeple are! Please make sure they are sturdy when finished - Ive previously used a piece of fabric over a felt square and then sewn onto that.

Love this!! I've got one set done already...My local art group has a chunky book swap for 3" pages featuring inchies. What I receive will likely make a couple more pages for my book!

doublesided 05/28/2010 #

Brilliant @Marthy I'd love to see photos of your chunky pages - please share!!
