The main purpose of this swap is to get and discover new manga series'. I know some people have a LOT of manga, so these swaps will be divided by letter. For instance, in this swap, the title you choose to send to your partner must start with the letter "A".

In this swap, you will send the first volume of one manga series to one partner.

  • When you sign up list all of the manga titles you CURRENTLY own that start with the swap letter, in this case "A". This is so your partner knows what NOT to send you.

  • If there are certain things you DO NOT WANT, such as Yaoi, Yuri, Shounen-Ai, Shoujo-Ai, etc. Make sure you list it with your manga so your partner knows! DO NOT list things you would prefer, as this swap is to discover things you might otherwise not pick up.

  • When partners are assigned come back to this page and check the list your partner left. Make sure you don't send them anything on that list.

  • THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT! Please ONLY send the FIRST VOLUME of the manga.

  • New or gently loved only please! This means no bent, torn, or missing pages, no writing on the manga, no stains, and no smell to the manga.

  • For the sake of consistency, titles that start with the WORD "A" are considered part of this swap. Make sure you list any titles you already own that start with the word "A".

  • Titles that start with a symbol should be considered based on the first letter in the title. For instance, '+ Anima' would belong in the "A" swap and '.hack//sign' would be in the "H" swap.

When the sign-up date passes, I will check participants and remove those that don't meet the swap requirements.

For now I am only running "A" swap, regional, until I see how this goes. If it goes well, I will run two letter swaps at the same time. Also, if there is demand for an international version, I will run that as well.

Newbies welcome with WELL FILLED profiles! Anyone else must have at least a 4.5 and no recent, unexplained 1's or 3's.

Manga is like japanese version of a comic book but usually black and white and the size of a novel.

@OliveAndMadi yup, what iggygirl said is correct. Book stores usually have manga in their own section, so they are easy to locate. Most manga is translated from Japanese (or other languages depending on where they came from) but there are also some American made manga, which are located with normal manga. :D

@Decany Yeah, + Anima should count in 'A' since symbols tend to be ignored when arranging manga. I'll make a note about that in the swap. :D

@AvidRobot I was thinking of doing a general manga swap after this one as well, without a letter restriction. I take it you don't want to swap new then, since you said you don't have much starting with A?

I want to see how this swap goes before I do another one, but I'd love to set up a normal manga swap after this one. :D
