Description:

I'm sure we all have made or received an ATC that was good but not necessarily your style. Maybe the color or theme was not your particular favorite... Now is the time to break out those not-quite-perfect ATCs and work your magic -- recycle, renew and make them gorgeous before sending them out.

You will have TWO partners for which you make (remake) TWO ATCs for each, for a total of FOUR ATCs.

For the first ATC for each of your partners, anything goes -- do something that YOU love and decorate or embellish as you please. For the second ATC for each of your partners, tailor it to something you think THEY will like based on their profile (examples could be a themed card for a movie, book or band they like, "things" they like such as witches or dragonflies, vintage ads or pin-up girls, colors and hues they like, whatever). This way, hopefully, you'll get something back that you adore far more than the ones you're "recycling".

Include a note with your ATCs explaining what you did to upgrade it, and if desired, you can send a "before" photo. It would be kind of fun to see how much it changed.

Requirement: Rating of 4.75 or higher with AT LEAST 2 HEARTS, NO NO SENDS, No Newbies Please (unless you're fabulous and email me first), International Swappers Welcome.

Intriguing. I've been holding back on joining ATC swaps since I got a bit burned out in one of the mega-swaps at the beginning of the summer. Also received some very unkind words about the quality of my art, which I thought completely unfounded, but it did hurt. But... I've got lots of cards received from others that I always look at and say "I would have done....." My question is, how do we handle the artist detail on the back? Leave the original information? Cover it with our own and an attribution to the original artist?

i say cover it up. that way the original artist is not embarrassed if they find out you recycled it. but that is just my opinion. i personally would NOT want to know if someone recreated one of mine. :)

(and i just covered up the name on the back of one of the originals i'm using)

if you cover up the back and put your own name on it, you don't give credit to the artist who made the original. So my thoughts are to put both names on the back.

yes, good point -- and i didn't mention (two people asked) that you should leave something showing from the original. :)
