Description:

It's time for Postcard Confessions, round two! In this swap, you will write your partner a note as if you were giving advice to your younger self.

Don't you wish that, as a teenager or college student, you knew then what you know now? If only you could go back in time and tell yourself things like what (or who) to watch out for, what experiences to remember to savor, or what's worth striving for. Your postcard can be funny or poignant or thoughtful or sad, whatever mood suits you.

Just write the card to your younger self, but address and mail it to your partner. Don't forget that the nicest notes may also tell your reader a little something about you, whether it's directly through your facts or through the way you tell your story.

Postcards are sender's choice and can be handmade or store-bought, but please let's be sure to send things you'd like to receive. Choosing a postcard illustrating the theme is nice, but not strictly required. They should be written on and stamped (no envelope), and everyone will have 1 partner, with 1 postcard to send. Easy peasy.

All the usual disclaimers: Please do not join if you don't plan on following through. If you are delayed for any reason, make sure to clearly communicate with your partner and with me. This swap is open to everyone with a well-rounded, well-filled-out profile, but those who seem risky will be deleted. And please--remember to rate your partner when you get your postcard...a heartfelt confession deserves acknowledgment!

My handwriting is terrible - is it okay if mine is typed? I've done it before without anyone complaining but wanted to check before assuming it would be permissible.

thehappyhoneybee 08/22/2010 #

@KristinaLynn I don't see any problem with typed postcards at all--thanks for checking, though.

KristinaLynn 08/22/2010 #

thank you! <3

funnily enough, one of our radio stations had a phone in / talkback on this very topic about a week ago. It definitely gets one thinking about what would be better to do or think.

I'm in!

thehappyhoneybee 08/23/2010 #

@brendanobrien Cool! It'll be interesting to see what people come up with.

This'll be my first swap, having just signed up. I love to send postcards,as I make my own from my photography. If you think my account looks a little sketchy,I can provide you some links to my other online accounts (flickr, facebook, livejournal etc.). I hope I'm not toooo late!
