Start with a plain white quality cotton flour sack tea towel.
No cheap, thin Dollar Store tea towels or the kind you get for 5 in a bundle from Wal-mart for $4.98.
Tea Towel Source suggestions:
Now you will create a Holiday Tea Towel that will be pretty, functional and durable for your partner to use in the kitchen for the Holiday Season. Think gingerbread house, santa, candy canes, christmas tree, christmas lights, reindeer, christmas packages, carolers, baby in a manger, Three wise men, sleigh, bells, pointsettia, drummer boy, holly, christmas ornaments, garland, etc. You can use fabric, embroidery, trims, crochet a pretty scalloped trim or applique. Be creative and use more than one of the options listed.
Here are some tutorials for embellishing a tea towel:
If you are unsure you will be able to produce a quality swap, please don't join this swap. We are looking for neat sewing and small embroidery stitches with neat knots. I am hoping to receive a beautiful tea towel that will brighten my kitchen and holiday season.
I will be checking flickr pics and profiles, I will use my discretion in banning swappers as ratings are not always what they seem. No newbies.
The design is sender's choice but must have a Christmas Holiday theme. You can post suggestions below of likes or dislikes but those are suggestions only.
