Description:

On your handmade postcard you will make an ink blot (put ink or paint in the middle of the card then fold in half - open to reveal your "blot"). From that, add a cut out head, hands and feet and anything else to construct your character.

You can make all originals or good quality copies to send. You will be sending "nakked" which means NOT in an envelope so be sure to have everything very well glued down if making originals.

International and newbies welcome......however, if not a newbie than you must have a rating of 4.7 or higher in order to play.

Remember to write the name of the swap on the back of the postcard.

What fun! I may just play with ink blots between calls at work tomorrow :-)

I got this idea from the new Somerset Studio magazine -there is an article with some great examples!

Red,

Can we hand-draw the features, or rubber stamp them? Or did you want collaged body parts from magazines or clip-art?

redleppard 10/12/2007 #

Any of those ways are ok :)

Ohhhh, I think you are going to love swapping postcards!!!

There are five little heads sitting on my art table waiting to get attached to inkblot bodies. It is rather creepy. And inspiring.

My inkblot character is in the gallery here. Each of my partners received a version of the same character. Backgrounds are different and the blots are all a bit different, but the basic design is the same.

Cool Blot, Postmuse. I'm runiing in to the same problem I always do...I like my background blots so much that I don't want to add other features...but I am! I used many colors of paint to make my blots.

Inkblots are on the way to cookiebear, nancyflamingo, Carroll, ATCarol, and emsmithjb...

There seems to be 2 people (sweetsparrow and cookiebear) that haven't sent their postcards out yet....I have emailed them. Hopefully they will be sending soon..........
