Description:

This is the fourth swap in the "Women Who Changed the World ATCs Series." I've participated as a swapper since 2007, but have never hosted a swap. So, I ask that you be patient with me, and ask any questions you may have so I can clarify anything that may be unclear.

This swap is motivated by a book entitled:"Her Story:Women Who Changed the World." The book features women from Prehistory to the Present who contributed to changing the world.

In this swap we will be learning about 6 women. This is the last group of women for Prehistory to 1750. We will be moving to a new span of history with swap #5.

NOW TO THE NITTY GRITTY:

  1. This will be a long term swap, approximately 2 years--don't let this scare you off. It will be amazing how fast it will go and we will be learning about lots of interesting women.
  2. You will have 1 partner.
  3. You will make 1 ATC about each women, 6 total.
  4. On the front of the ATC include a representation of the woman, the woman's name, and anything else you feel is important to include on the front of the ATC. Just slapping on a picture and the name is not acceptable.
  5. On the back of the ATC include: your name, date, number ____/123, artist(you), and answer this question: What did this woman do to change the world?

Here are the Women we will Make ATCs about:

  1. Catherine de Medicis
  2. Queen Elizabeth I
  3. Mary Queen of Scots
  4. Artemisia Gentileschi
  5. Judith Leyster
  6. Sor Juana Ines de la Cruz

TO PARTICIPATE:

  1. You must have at least a 4.8 rating
  2. No unexplained 1s or 3s in last 6 months
  3. You must have at least 25 Type 3 swaps completed.
  4. This is a long-term commitment, so if you are not serious about doing quality work and sending out your projects on time then please don't sign-up for the swap. I will also review profiles before assigning partners.
  5. If for some good reason you can't get your ATCs out on time, please notify your partner.

I LOOK FORWARD TO HAVING LOTS OF FUN WITH ALL OF YOU WHO SIGN-UP TO TAKE THIS JOURNEY WITH ME

This sounds like a beautiful and quality swap! Just to clarify, for this (#4) swap we send 6 to one partner by Nov 1, but the long term (2 year) commitment entails sending ATCs to new partners about women from different eras and we must be prepared to complete them all? How many swaps will we eventually do? Will there be 6 wonderful women for each swap? Is it OK if we haven't participated in the first 3 swaps? I'm hoping to participate in these swaps and by Sept 25 I will have 25 swaps under my belt. I've already painted the ATC for Mary Queen of Scots. Thanks for your time sleepingrover!

Hello LA Summer, Yes, you will send 6 ATCs to one partner by Nov. 1st. Yes, you will be sending ATCs to new partners over the 2years and they will be different women from different eras. However, you are not committed to the 2 years. You may participate as little or as much as you want. I just put in how long it will take so if swappers want to do all of the women they would know how long the swap will be to get them all completed. It is perfectly fine if you have not participted in the first 3 swaps. You will just start with #4. I will go ahead and review your profile assuming you have the 25 to make sure you have everything else, the rating. You sound like you would be a wonderful adddition to the group.
