Description:

The idea for this swap is taken from the scavenger hunt types swaps I have seen. But with a fabric twist.

This is #7 in my ORIGINAL series of fabric fun scavenger hunts. Accept no imitations or plagiarized versions.

You must send 5 fabric or fabric/sewing related items to your partner. Things like fat quarters, ribbon, thread, buttons, seam rippers, iron-ons, pincushions, etc. would work.

But what you send, each item must go for one of the following categories:

  1. Something fantasy

  2. Something rainbow or many colored

  3. Something square or with squares

  4. Something in bold

  5. Something orange

Confused yet? Let me give you an example to explain it better.

I might send my partner a fat quarter with dragons on it for #1, a spool of rainbow variegated thread for #2, a spool of ribbon with squares on it for #3, a seam ripper with a hot pink handle for #4 and a card of orange buttons for #5. Or I could do a card of fairy buttons #1, a fat quarter with rainbows for #2, plaid fat quarter (where the pattern is made up of little squares) for #3, a fat quarter with a bold design for #4 and a roll of orange ribbon for #5.

Or I could send 5 fat quarters that fit each of the categories. But you cannot send five items for only one category (like 5 something orange) or one item for all five categories. There must be five items. And all of the categories must be represented.

And since this is a question I would have, yes, items can qualify as more than one category. For instance, a neon orange fat quarter would work for something that’s bold and for something orange but it needs to be used for one category only.

With this swap I also ask that you include a note explaining which of your choices is for which number.

You can make some of the items – as long as they fit one of the categories and are fabric / sewing related. So let’s say you want to make a square needlebook, that would be fine since it would be something that’s a square.

So to sum up, five fabric or fabric related items that each fit into one of the above categories. And a note telling which item goes for what.

Now the rules: There is no dollar amount set for this swap but I ask that you not send junk or used items (unless maybe like a cool vintage item). Also no little scraps of fabric. If you are going to send fabric it must be a minimum of a fat quarter. And with ribbon, it must be a minimum cut of one yard. And I ask that you check your partner’s profile for likes/dislikes. Sending your partner yellow embroidery thread would work but if they don’t embroider, it’s useless.

This swap is international and open to swappers with ratings of 4.5 or higher. No newbies. I reserve the right to ban swappers at my discretion. And please, make sure your profile is filled out. If it isn’t, I might think you aren’t serious about swapping and I might choose to ban you.

If you have questions about this swap or something isn’t clear, please pm me. Thanks

This is right up my alley. I love ribbon and color and textures! I love to give this kind of gift and get more excited for the recipient to receive than for me to receive. I like to be surprised!
