Description:

I see many PC swaps, but not many specific to vintage. So, I thought I'd try a swap for sender's choice vintage postcards.

One partner - (3) different vintage postcards in an envelope. EDITED : Vintage postcards no larger than 3.5 x 5.5 inches and no newer than 1960s.

Please send interesting new or used postcards you would be happy to receive. Used cards, in very good condition, are acceptable and encouraged because these are sometimes the most collectible. Please do not send reproductions, or cards with stains, tears or creases. Some corner or edge wear is normal for vintage cards. Questions? Please post below so everyone can read.

This swap is sender's choice, but I think it is fun to surprise my partner with a profile match when possible. Not required, though, so please rate a 5, if you receive 3 vintage postcards in good condition (as described above).

No unexplained 1s or 3s allowed. Newbies, yes and 4.8, or above rating allowed. I have many vintage cards and will angel if needed. Please do let me know if there is a problem.

And, if there is enough interest I will think up something fun for February and following months.

Whoever my partner is...would you please post a birthday note on the back of mine, as my birthday IS January 17th! I'd twirl with delight! :)

How old does a card have to be to be considered vintage?

bb2 12/11/2010 #

Good question! I forgot that detail. For the purpose of this swap I'm going to say no cards newer than the 1960s. And, they must be no larger than 3.5 x 5.5 inches. Here is a good website for dating cards: http://www.vintagepostcards.org/Old-Postcards-and-Antique-Postcards.htm

Do they have to be linen or can they be chrome too ?

( I will send what my partner would like - I don't mind either)

The PCs can be linen, divided backs, white border, chrome, or real photo--any vintage/antique cards from early 1900s through 1969, as long as they are no larger than 3.5 x 5.5 inches. When you rate, please remember this is sender's choice. Do include a note to identify the swap and your user name. Additional information about the PCs is always fun, too.

Many of the vintage pc's I come across have writing on them (most likely been sent), do these have to be blank? I can do either, but the ones with no writing make the selection smaller.

As long as the pc's are in good vintage condition it is fine if they were previously posted. I actually prefer posted vintage cards because I like to read them and many times the cool vintage stamp is still adhered. And, most collectors have no problem with previously posted cards.

There are still two participants showing not sent, so I've moved the must send date to Tuesday, Jan. 18th, beings the post office is closed on Monday.
