Description:

Hello everybody,

this is the first swap I'm hosting and I'm really excited about it - as you can see, I'm quite new to this site, so I hope, that many will participate.

So, in this swap, you have to introduce your country as detailed as possible - I made this for Europe only, at first, but if it goes well, I might host an international version, too.

So, what you have to do, is to send your partner a package full of items, which somehow represent your country. That shouldn't be only tourist postcard or stupid souvenirs, but everything that is "Made in ...". Either there are typical brands for paper or clothing, typical candy, German movies or German musicians - use your imagination! Besides a nice and well thought package you also have to send a letter in which you write several statements about your country. YOu shoudln't write things like "Germany has 80.000.000 inhabitants", but rather "I always feel that Germans have to complain about everything".

YOu have two weeks time to do this swap, which I think should be enough. Before you send stuff, check the profile of your partner. Of course, the items you send should be representative, but for example you shouldn't send a CD which doesn't fit your partners taste in music. A possible package could look like this: - Some postcards - Lettersets by a brand of your country - Some typical food/candy - a lipstick by a brand of your country - a CD by a musician of your country - a novel by an author of your country - a letter with statements about your country

If you send books, please make sure, that you get a translated version in a language your partner understands.

So, I will allow anybody with a rating over 4.7 to this swap and newbies are also welcome, since I've just grown out of being a newbie and I know, what it feels like. Plus, since you have to present your country to someone who preferably is from another country, there should be only 3 participants max. per country. I'm German, so there are only 2 more Germans possible. By this, I hope that most people will get a package from abroad.

The value of your package should be around 15 € - this is more of a heavy swap, so if you can't meet these requirements, please don't join. I want my swap to run really well, so everybody gets an enjoyable, interesting package, which fits his interests.

And please make sure, that your package is sent in time!

So, if there are any more questions, feel free to ask - if I have forgotten anything, please let me know, since this is my first swap ;)

And now ... Happy Swapping!

Even though I'm from overseas & can't join this, I just thought I'd mention that it may not be a good idea to allow newbies to join this swap. I'm all for giving newbies a fair go, but as this is a 'heavy swap', it may be better to allow only established swappers as allowing newbies may deter people from joining. Anyway, good luck & enjoy the swap! :)

Thanks for the hint, Strawberry. I guess, I'll give it a try, but I will check each profile and if a newbie has not a very detailed description, I'm gonna ban him. I hope, nobody will flake here.

Most of the time I got flaked it was by an established swapper. So that's no guarantee :o(

Hey you two, I decided to extend the deadline, since I had to order something, which won't arrive here in time - so, now we all have one more week time ;)
