Description:

This is a suggestion from the thread by @MadQueenofHearts Take a few fashion shots. It can be of you, your child, your neighbor, a mannequin. It doesn't have to be high fashion per se. I'll leave it open to whatever you can imagine....redneck fashion, animal fashion, pinup fashion, whatever you can get your hands on.

Print out two pictures of this. Then go a step further. Create a magazine page for each of these "fashion photos." That means that each one is on its own page....something close to magazine size. Your pictures can be the ad on the page (and you can write an article next to it in the kind of magazine it might appear in....redneck fashion and tractors r us, for example), or you can create a full ad for the pics. Don't just use notebook paper, now. Use sturdy paper and use paint and glitter and all of your design techniques.

This is a challenge to push you beyond just the camera. This will help you get a feel for what happens after you take the pic and how you might use it.

If your partner goes above and beyond (like creates a whole magazine....even if it's stapled together) give em a heart. Or if they even do 3 pages instead of two.

No limitations except keep it PG 13 and keep it classy, not vulgar.

Two months to do this so that you have plenty of time.

Can we create these pages in Word or another software application?

I was thinking just a normal notebook page or construction paper size. You can create the pages in word and print them or you can take something the size of construction paper and do it scrapbook style. Magazine size. It'll fit in a business envie...I have no idea what the technical size is 8x11? So it's still technically flat mail. But I listed it as craft because of the amount of art involved.

I know this is a small, labor intensive swap but I am really looking foreword to it. My girlfriend eagerly volunteered to be my model, and I think I will spend just as much time taking pictures of her in all kinds of ways as I will putting together an awesome 'magazine' pages.

I've been working on mine. I can't wait to send it. I do self photography of my fashions all the time and a professional photographer once told me that my self photos were better then her's. I've only taken photography classes that lasted a few days and she has a certificate.
