how awesome! i love them! i love those green customs forms too!

Cityclicker 03/ 1/2011 #

The ones available in Sweden say "Prioritaire" and below it "1:a-klassbrev" ("first class letter"). Are those okay?

malleechick 03/ 1/2011 #

Hi Cityclicker,

YES!!!!! They are more than OK. What I wanted to do was enable each participant to receive a number of different ones so they could use them on their own mail in the future. The name of this swap was only limited by my imagination!

TurtleLove 03/ 1/2011 #

I have to ask....are these something that you request at the counter? I am not sure where you get them. Thanks

malleechick 03/ 1/2011 #

At my post office, they have them just sitting on the counter. Each time I buy stamps for international postage they say "help yourself" to the airmail stickers. I've never known them to be for sale.

TurtleLove 03/ 3/2011 #

Thank you I will ask for some when I go next time.

CassisCraft 03/ 4/2011 #

Here in Australia they have been mostly phased out except for parcels and are kept behind the counter now! Our airmail letter stamps now have a little stripe on them which reads International Mail that the computer reads and apparently it gets confused with those stickers! :(

Scamp 03/ 4/2011 #

@CassisCraft - We must still be old fashioned here in Tasmania, we still have the blue airmail stickers on the counter at the GPO!

papercaper 03/ 5/2011 #

@CassisCraft - Whenever I ask for Air Mail stickers, they give me heaps! Some bright spark will always point out that you really don't need to use them anymore, but I just say I prefer to, or that the recipient loves all kinds of stamps, or whatever. I miss the awesome old Air Mail stickers. They were so Art Deco. :]

Altkins 03/ 5/2011 #

But here in China, we use a postmark indicating "By airmail " or "Par Avon" ,or these post signs printed on the cards/envelopes beforehand, instead of stickers.

papercaper 03/ 6/2011 #

I have received mail with adhesive blue Air Mail labels from China, but now that I think about it, they might have been sent from Hong Kong.... There were no postage stamps, just a white label... very hard to tell. :)

provadia 03/ 6/2011 #

Ah, so sad, I don't have 30 of them!

malleechick 03/ 7/2011 #

Let me know if you have trouble getting hold of as many as 30 for this. I will 'angel' (if that's the right term) for those people so that you can get some different ones to swap. My purpose in setting up this swap is so that I can get hold of these stickers from different countries for my postal habit. I'm interested in helping others to do this as well.

theanswerisseven 03/ 7/2011 #

The person behind the desk thought I was crazy when I said I needed 30 airmail stickers today.. but hadn't bought any international stamps... I still got them though! Really hoping to get an overseas partner =)

malleechick 03/ 7/2011 #

I will make sure that everyone gets an overseas partner!! That's what this is about.

tatterededge 03/ 7/2011 #

I have a collection of these that I would be willing to photocopy, and share, if it's okay to not have them be stickers, per se. You could easily use glue stick to adhere them. If this is okay, let me know and I will sign up. I have tons of different designs!

(I'm a bit of a label junkie!)

athanasiasmile 03/ 8/2011 #

The Greek ones are not stickers though, it's like stamps, you spit and they glue lol is it ok? If not please let me know so I will have to drop.. :s

malleechick 03/ 8/2011 #

The idea here is that we each receive a range of these items from different countries. I have no objection to these being photocopied so long as they are good quality and the sender lets you know that there is no glue on them. As to the Greek ones, I'd love them! Ours are the lick and stick ones as well - I've never seen self adhering ones. So join and have fun.

tatterededge 03/ 8/2011 #

Okay great! I am in!!

luv2cre8 03/ 8/2011 #

So, for those of us in the US, are we going to be partnered with other countries so we don't all send the same stamps/stickers?

CassisCraft 03/ 8/2011 #

@Scamp and @papercaper - you're lucky! My post office won't put them on and they only have the big ones for parcels, behind the counter.

malleechick 03/ 8/2011 #

I will make sure that you get partners from different countires. There are enough participants to get a good variety. I pormise there will be no one who sends to their own country. That would defeat the purpose of this.

malleechick 03/ 9/2011 #

AH! This is my first swap as co-ordinator. I thought that I was able to choose for myself who got to swap with whom. But I don't.

Let me know if you get some doubled up, or from your won country and I will send you some from different countries.

omandarine 03/10/2011 #

i love the idea of this swap but when i looked from where i ve got mine i saw i ll have from canada and its my country already ...

memtree 03/11/2011 #

maybe next time it'll have to be a limit to one participant from each country...

gothgirl 03/11/2011 #

Partners worked out really well for me :) I'm in Finland and will send to Australia, Canada and Germany. I should receive from The US, Australia and Canada.

Feel free to PM me if you want to receive these stickers from Finland :)

malleechick 03/11/2011 #

@omandarine - let me know if you'd like some from Australia and I'll send some to you. I wonder how that worked, because there were only 2 Canadians. But there were 4 Aussies!

As I said, I thought that I would be able to choose who sent to whom, but that is not how this works.

@memtree - interesting idea but I'm not sure that I want to restrict it. Perhaps there could be a stipulation that if you get to send to your own country then you get creative with the stickers.
