About Me

I am a 57year old wife/mom/grandma who has been collecting AG dolls for the past 20+ years. I use my dolls to teach community education programs in southeastern Minnesota. At this point I have 34 pdolls and counting. I keep telling myself I should downsize, but it's just so hard to part with any of them! I did have a small doll clothing store for about a year and a half, but when the economy took a nosedive in 2008 I decided to give it up before I went too deep in debt. I currently sell doll clothes and accessories at craft sales and flea markets. I have been following Karen's blog and I'm very excited to be a part of Swap-bot!

Favorite Books

I just finished The Help and loved it! My all time favorite is To Kill a Mockingbird. I also enjoyed the Mitford series by Jan Karon and anything by Anne Tyler and Amy Tan. I haven't been reading too much lately as I have been having trouble with macular degeneration. I did visit the low vision doc and I am expecting my new reading glasses any day! I also have a new IPad that is very helpful. I worked as the children's librarian in our small local library for about 10 years and have LOTS of children's books that I love.

Favorite Movies

The Help, though not nearly as good as the book. To Kill a Mockingbird, Sound of Music, Misery. I'm not a big movie fan, and I really don't like sad movies.

I Love Lucy! (I really do!) B&W Andy Griffith Leave it to Beaver (I'm really dating myself!) The Office Family Guy Judge Judy (YES!!!) Peoples Court Bob's Burgers

Favorite Crafts

I love making things for my dolls. Paper crafts Upcycling, there is nothing more satisfying to me than making treasures from trash.

Likes

I love flea markets, junk stores, thrift shops, antique stores (the messy ones), auctions. Vintage Barbies Coffee Entertaining Vintage decor Pink & turquoise Crossword puzzles, surimi, all sorts of puzzles

Comment: Wow! What a package. How did you fit it in the Jar? I had a hard time getting the things out. I love all of it(Iknow Avery will also). I've got a box ready to go and now with your items, it is over the top. Don't know what my favorite is but I will have to say the sweater brcause of all the time involved. Where did you get the pattern? It is such a cute sweater. If I could give you more than one heart, one hundred would not be enough. Thank you, Shirley
Response: Shirley, So happy you are pleased! Wish I could give you the pattern forth sweater, but I didn't make it. Last summer when my husband was on a fishing trip there was a knitter in his camp. She made AG sweaters by the dozens. When she found out I was a collector, she sent home a whole bag for me! She would'nt accept any pay, so I thought I would spread some of the joy. Comment: OMG, I was so thrilled to get your doll outfit. It is so well made. I realized I need to step up my game. It's just beautiful. Even my husband remarked at how cute the dress, cape, and earmuffs were. And shoes!! I just love it all.I'm so glad that I got to give you your first "5" rating and your first heart.
