FLAKING: I will not flake on you. Please let me know if you did not receive an item and I will resend. I try to get my items mailed out as soon as possible after receiving my partner information.
Please rate your partners, it is the right thing to do! I like to rate my partners as soon as I can. Please let me know if I have forgotten to rate you on a swap.
I look forward to swapping with you.
UPDATES: 2/08/18 In July I had an injury at work and tore my rotator cuff in two places. I had surgery for this injury in October and am currently seeing a Physical Therapist for rehab. Because of this I have not been able to participate in crafting. I am slowly getting better range of motion and am ready to start working on my crafts again. (It has been a crazy couple of years).
05/24/17 Had another surgery on my eye today. The initial biopsy has come back clear. I am believing in prayer & healing.
01/10/2017 I just found out that my cancer has returned. I am going to complete the swap that I am currently hosting and then I will be taking a break from Swap-bot for a while to focus on my health.
10/17/16 My cancer was much more aggressive than originally thought. I ended up having complications and 5 surgeries. I had to have my eye sewn shut in order for it to heal properly. I just had part of the stitches removed last week and am recovering. The remaining stitches will be in for another 5 weeks then hopefully I can put all this behind me for good.
7/14/16 Another update: I was just diagnosed with a very rare cancer on my eyelid. Have just had surgery and am recovering. I will get back to joining swaps etc soon. Thanks for understanding.
Hi. I really dislike these about me sections as I never know quite what to say. But, here goes; I am married to a wonderful Scotsman. Step-mother of two I am a born again Messianic Christian woman. As such I do not celebrate the typical Christian holidays of Christmas & Easter. Rather, I celebrate the traditional Biblical Feast/Holy days. Please do not send anything Christmas/Easter related. I believe in modesty and wearing head coverings (tichels) when praying as commanded in 1st Corinthians 11. I love tichels (head scarves, prounounced like tickle)) and am trying to get a large collection of them. Some of my absolute favorites are from Wrapunzel dot com. They have some beautiful tichels. I also like things to accessorize my tichels with; old brooches, hat pins, even headbands. If you've never seen a tichel check out the above website and you will see what I am talking about, and possibly understand why I like them so much.
After going through a really tough couple of years with the death of my dad and being diagnosed with a rare cancer on my eyelid and the subsequent treatments that followed I have come to realize that I needed Yeshua (Jesus) in my life more than I could have imagined. I had at one very dark point in my life turned my back on him and all things Christian. I am thankful that he is merciful and that his love endures forever.
Some things I love: Chickens, chickens, chickens!!! My kitchen is decorated in a chicken theme.
I love to travel, camping, the mountains, beaches, thunderstorms, big nature lover. Reading is my passion. I love different crafts especially mixed media art.
Cooking, baking, gardening, canning, etc are favorite pastimes
. I love my Happy Planner. Anything planner related will be greatly appreciated.
I am a paper addict. Love to make all kinds of crafts but especially those that involve paper such as: ATC's, bookmarks, journals, homemade envelopes, card making, altered books, tags, mini albums, toilet paper roll albums, and on and on.
I also enjoy; making jewelry, altered dominoes, sewing, quilting, soft sculpture dolls, making bath items such as salts and bath bombs.
I love to learn new techniques so if you have any to share I would love getting directions from you for them. Especially for new & exciting backgrounds for art journalling.
I love sending & receiving postcards. Please send them naked (without an envelope & stamped, not machine stamped). I have received some beautiful ones from all over the world through Postcrossing. If you are interested in a direct swap please message me.
Here are some ideas for postcards to send: Historical interest* Art themed* Norman Rockwell* Monet* Wildlife* Nature* Cemeteries* Old buildings/ruins* Castles* City (cards from your hometown) Different countries* Book/magazine cover themed* Oddities/unusual things* Poetry* Old movie stars/movies* Birds/butterflies* Anything Scottish related* Anything from 1939 (reminds me of my dad)* Vintage* Steampunk* Wildflowers*
Any related to my profile likes
There are few postcards that I wouldn't like but please nothing vulgar, no ad cards, homemade or zazzle unless I specifically sign up for it.
Here are some of the themes I like; Nature* Twilight zone* Alfred Hitchcock* Vincent Price (back when movies didn't have to be gory to be good) Butterflies* Vintage* Victorian* Lace* Ribbons* Buttons* Ephemera of all types (except junk mail) Maps* Old greeting cards (I make these into journals)
If it's crafty I will probably love it. Love tea towels and am trying to get a large collection of them
I like Alice in Wonderland, Betty Boop, Ziggy (anyone else remember him?)
I love books, the feel of them, the smell, the sound of the pages turning.
I love receiving homemade items that have been made with care.
I would love to get the following: Background technique ideas for journalling and ATC's.* Buttons for sewing (all shapes, sizes, colors)* Ribbon & Lace* Unique papers* Stencils (homemade is fine)* Stamps (rubber or clear...used postage works too)* Punches* Glimmer Mists* Alcohol Inks* Broken jewelry* Ephemera* Books; especially if it's written in a foreign language, sheet music or if it is an older book with hard cover.*
I haven't met a color I didn't like. (Okay, that's not totally true. I don't like girly pink.) Hunter green is my all time favorite. Some other favorites are: browns, oranges, reds, yellows, (earthy Autumn colors) blues, greens, purples.
Believe it or not I love paisley and plaids (yes, I'm weird like that.)
I do not drink coffee but love tea. I do not like lemon, ginger, Chai, or raspberry flavored type teas..
Not a fan of gummy candy or other soft candies. Anything that would melt probably wouldn't make it here as it is hot most of the year.
I do not like the following: Violent themed, Anime, manga, kawaii, princesses, hello kitty, most Disney items, abstract art. Obscene content items.
Also, please if you smoke, try to air items out before sending as I am sensitive to cigarette smoke.
I look forward to swapping with you. I try to put a lot of effort into my swaps and ask that you please do the same; (no stickers stuck on a plain background and call it an ATC). Incorporating stickers is fine; but I actually received an "ATC' that was plain red card stock with one sticker stuck smack dab in the middle of it and that was it.
I love the creative process and believe everyone is capable of making "art." I do realize that we all have different abilities however, and as long as it looks as if you tried to put effort into it that is what matters to me.
