Hi Ksenia! I'm your partner in the "book in reading right now" swap. Currently I'm reading "The Woman Who Breathed Two Worlds" by Selina Siak Chin Yoke.
The book follows a woman over many decades, in which she learns to embrace her Malayan & Chinese heritage and becomes a mother and a cook. In the later years, it touches on her struggle to deal with her children becoming more and more Westernized and her fears of losing her heritage.
I just started it the other day, but so far the book is really interesting. There was a very helpful note section in the beginning that informs the reader on some specifics about language and culture in the story. I've included a page with a passage I found to be beautiful.
I hope you like these vamps, I really can't wait for Halloween and for the fall. It's my favorite time of the year. Also, somewhat vampire related, one of my new favorite song is Vampire Smile by Kyla La Grange . I just stumbled upon it a few days ago, how appropriate for this swap, right? :) Happy swapping!
