About Me

I am an eclectic artists that can't decide on one type of art. I am in two galleries with my paintings and collaged frames. I am in three businesses and one gallery with my collaged Handmade Recyclables blank greeting cards. I have two cats, two foster cats, one outside cat. I love making Steampunk art and any type of recycled materials art, that's why I love Swapbot so much. I am also taking on line distance ed. classes in Library Science. You are never to old to learn.

Favorite Music

Zydeco, Cajun, waltz, tango, fox trot, swing, country two-step - almost anything couples danceable!

Favorite Movies

Hope Floats Any Harry Potter (what can I say ?) Roxanne Benny & Joon The original Harvey with Jimmy Stewart UP The Princes and the Frog Last Chance Harvey If you are sending me a CD - please send Art Instruction DVDs - collage and/or acrylic if possible. I have lots of regular movies. Thanks on this.

Favorite Television

Don't watch TV - rots the mind, well...maybe the cooking channel, the Home Decorating Channel, the History Channel, and Dancing with the Stars and NCIS.

Favorite Crafts

I am now into altered frames with a Steampunk theme and handmade recyclables blank greeting cards, but I still do ATCs, Altered Books, Watercolor/acrylic painting, ebony pencil drawing, crochet, knitting, quilting, collage, bead work, and other various and sundry areas too numerous to mention, when I have the time.

What to send me...

Need anything metal for Steampunk work like tiny washers, screws, small and tiny metal embellishments, black metal zippers, copper colored wires, copper colored beads, and small bendable pipes, old silverware with antique patterns, antique looking jewelry, and anything that will fit the Steampunk theme, including old glasses, goggles, broken watches or pictures of old watches, old small sized lace and trims. Oh, and old Victorian type pictures of the ladies in black dresses and the guys in top hat outfits or pith helmet outfits. Also any rubber stamps with Steampunk themes. Need anything that looks Victorian that I can use in my Steampunk work. Also old flat rusted items to collage with.

I do a lot of collage now so send: old or mismatched jewelry, any papers that can be used for collage: light weight, textured, hand made, unusual prints, unusual designs, and gold or silver on black - the bigger the piece of paper the better - I do large projects sometimes.

I dance so send anything dance related - pictures with dancers on them. When I say dance, I mean couples dancing but I can also use ballet dancers and other dancers.

I also like fairies and angel pictures.

I like stickers and rubbers stamps of real butterflies and real bugs, clocks and watches, spirals and circles, flowers, realistic animals, anything of Tim Holtz, stripes and plaids and stars.

I DO NOT LIKE CUTESY THINGS SUCH AS STICKERS AND PAPERS AND COLLAGE PICTURES. Please do not send, thanks!

Anything related to New Orleans. I love dancing to Zydeco and Cajun music.

PLEASE DO NOT SEND anything cutesy like dancing animals and any of the cartoon characters, Hanna Montana or any kid/teenager stars, anything from TV programs (except Dancing with the Stars).

Books.

No historical fiction. Please do not send to me these authors because I have read most of James Patterson, Sandra Brown, Catherine Coulter, Robert Ludlum, Maeve Binchy, Nora Roberts, Sidney Sheldon, Fern Michaels, Dean Koontz, Debbie MacComber, Dave Berry, all of Carlos Castineda (three times) and many more. I am a voracious reader so am open to funny romance, mystery, thrillers, and open genres. I love a book that will make me laugh.

I just read Eat, Pray, Love and really enjoyed that one. Anything like that. I also read the Summer and Tuscany group of books.

I do not like self-help, historic fiction, blood and guts in gory fashion, mushy romance, romance for the simple minded, religious books, books that could be edited down to half the size by taking out repetitions of the worries of the heroine.

Flakers

I have never flaked, might be occasionally late but I always send!!!

I was flaked on by Jellybirds on the 40pages found art journal.

What not to send

Do not send Sharpie pens, gel pens, stationary and note pads, ruffly lace, children's or cutesy stickers, any Brittany Spears, Taylor Swift, Hanna Montana, etc. type of anything, nudity, dark subjects, or bad language..

Comment: Excellent ~ thanks so much for all the fun goodies! This is my favorite kind of swap to get with all the little things to play with. Edited: The postage stamps were really useful since I'm in a stamp swap right now, but I'm actually keeping most of them. They are different than what I had already and there are some really nice ones.
Response: Thank you. I have lots of stamps to trade if you are interested in a private swap.

Thank you again for offering to angel for the Big Fat Stuffed Envelope Swap #4. Truly Inspiring to have swappers like you in this swap. You're a swap Superstar.

dgharris573 on Jun 2, 2010:

Sandra, you truly are an angel. I received your angel package for the Big Fat Stuffed Envelope Swap #3 tonight. I spent over an hour pouring through everything, it's just awesome! Even my girls got involved. The youngest, 12, quickly snagged the bracelet, Betty Boop notes, and LPS notebook. The oldest, 21, took all the envelopes with postage for her altered art collages. I had to stop them so I could keep the rest! Love the SU rub ons, and everything in there are goodies I can use, what a fun end to a tough day!

wolfeagle on May 27, 2010:

Thank you so much for being an angel for the BFSE Swap. You Rock!! And are much appreciated.

babyamy on Jan 9, 2010:

When I looked at the postage I thought "wow, that was VERY expensive!" but I loved the yarn you sent. One yarn I already use for crouchetting something for another swap. I have so many ideas what to do with all the paper I just need a free weekend. Friendship books are usually little booklets in which you put your address label and add some interests and pass it on to another pen pal. You can use it to find new penpals this way. This is a website which explains everything very good. http://www.fbfun.com/about/ I will use the paper to decorate the cover of the little booklets when I start new ones.
