About Me

I'm a wife, mother, daughter, sister, Catholic, and friend. I enjoy playing cards and board games, reading (historical fiction is my favorite), spending time in the garden (especially native plants, herbs, and perennials), cooking (I like making tasty stuff, but it's definitely not fancy stuff, and I love my pressure cookers for making my life so much simpler), keeping in shape at the gym (tabata and kick boxing are my jam, but I'm getting more into running), and traveling (This fall we took an amazing RV adventure to Yellowstone and the Tetons and it was so different from any of our previous trips, and just a blast). I especially love cats (especially my precious seal point Himalayan Clawed "Monet"),and spending time with my husband, our two sons, and my beautiful 87 year old grandma, who I think is the most perfect person in the whole world. I homeschool my youngest son, who is a competitive swimmer, and my oldest is an adult who lives on his own and is starting out on his own adventures. My husband is a handsome, kind, and adoring man who works hard as a provider, fixes everything, nurtures and loves our children, and puts gas in my car at least once a week because he knows I hate to do it myself. This wife and mom gig can be a pretty good gig when it all shakes out. I'm thankful to God for all of my blessings.

Favorite Music

My musical taste is really just a little bit of everything. I love to dance, so anything with a catchy beat will keep me tuned in. I'm a definite car dancer, and I occasionally sing in the shower. My playlist includes everything from Johnny Cash and Ben Harper to Snoop Dog and Imagine Dragons. Good times require a good playlist!

Favorite Crafts

I like to crochet (biggest achievement was a stuffed bunny for my nephews first birthday), sew (coolest thing I ever sewed was a Shark hoodie for my son), draw and create art with my youngest son (we like to try to draw his favorite characters), and I also enjoy DIY home decor and wreath making.

Favorite Books

I love fiction, especially historical fiction. My favorite recent read was 'We Were the Lucky Ones' by Georgia Hunter. I also love Nightingale by Kristin Hannah, The Help by Kathryn Stockett, and The Storyteller by Jody Picoult. My favorite book of all time is Kane and Able by Jeffrey Archer. The storylines are so interconnected and mesmerizing, and the character evolution is entrancing. I read it about every 5 years. Such a great book.
