About Me

I am 32 and a mom of three little ones (10, 8, & 6 year old). I enjoy reading, scrapbooking, knitting (sometimes), gardening, cooking (if someone else does the dishes) and a million and one other things. I love candles, bath stuff of all types (LUSH being my favorite! with any spa stuff a close second) , vanilla & red teas and anything that says "relaxing". I collect tea cups, and I especially like ones that have dainty floral prints or are solid white with embossed designs. Someone also just sent me a solid green one with dragonflys embossed on it that I LOVE!

I adore thrift store shopping, swapping and getting presents! I am the ultimate bargain hunter and am constantly out on the hunt! I tend to be somewhat chabby chic/classy in my house decor - think Martha Stewart/Pottery Barn - not that I ever shop there as it is completely out of my budget =). I must admit, I also like things made by Anne Taintor.

I love spending time with my husband and kids. We play lots of game (mostly European and anything new and different - Settlers of Catan, Ticket to Ride, Bang!, Nuns on the Run, Lost Cities, Heave Ho! and too many more to list). If you have any favorite games or try something new that you LOVE, e-mail me and let me know.

My husband and I live in an old big house (built 1908) with three apartments off of it that we rent. It is constantly in need of fixing or redoing, so that take up a lot of my spare time. My husband is an assistant paster of our church. It is an Evangelical Friends (Quaker) church and we spend a lot of time with the people there.

I love to get all "dolled up" and go out. I am somewhat old fashioned though (My husband had to ask my dad if he could marry me for example). I love to laugh and have fun with people of like minds. I have very varied tastes and enjoy many things.

I love fruit of all kinds and love soaps & lotions with fruit smells. I am always looking for new swap sites to check out, these being my current favorites: Swap-bot.com (anything & everything) Makeupalley.com (make-up) swappersonline.com (Lush stuff and tarts) paperbackswap.com swapadvd.com (Dvd's) Let me know if you find others that are awesome that I don't have listed.

I have just discovered that I am reactive hypoglcemic and am not supposed to eat sugar. So my husband and I are trying to make our life "healthier" by going Organic, eating tons of veggies and fresh fruit, only eating whole grains and cutting out sugar. If you have any recipes that relate to any of the above, I would love to try them out. I also am becoming very earthy and trying to use products that are more enviromently friendly. So anything relating to this, I would love as well (natural cleaners, detergents, organic cotton, things made out of bamboo, etc. You get the idea. Yes, I am becoming a tree hugger. =)

I love the ocean and rainy days - Good thing I live in Washington! ;) Autumn is my favorite season.

Well, sorry for the LONG profile, as I have participated in more and more swaps I have wished that some people had more information on their profiles and then I kept ending up adding more and more.

Colors:

My favorite colors are greens, blues, burgundy, mauves, reds, pinks, browns, black and white. Lately I am REALLY into any color with Dark Brown (Brown/pink, Brown/green, Brown/blue, you get the idea) I prefer silver or pewter over gold every time. I love old fashioned things, the victorian era, and anything pretty and romantic (more simple and classy verses really lacy). I also like classy fifties housewife stuff or maybe it is considered vintage (?) (think Jessie Steele Aprons, Amy Butler fabric and patterns). I also must admit that I kind of like steampunk...

Really the main colors I DON'T like are orange or bright teal and anything neon.

Favorite Movies & Music

Movies: Pride & Prejudice, Batman Begins, Anne of Green Gables, all of the X-Men, Spiderman, Australia, Sherlock Holmes (Jeremy Brett) and many others. I love spy movies and mysteries.

Music: Norah Jones, Classical, Jazz, Scottish (Marie Brenner, Enya, Natalie MacMasters), etc.

Television: Martha Stewart living, Wings, Deep Space 9, Star Trek Next Generation, Chuck, Eureka, West Wing, Monk, and I am sure others that I can't think of at the moment.

Details for current Swaps I am

  1. Scrapbook/Paper Stuff: I love all kinds of papers (especially DCWV, Martha Steward, and K & C Company stuff). My kids are getting older now so I would rather not have baby stuff, but older kids stuff or general stuff is great. I love the packets of papers that have all different colors and testures (glitter, velvet, etc ). I basically liked almost everyone I saw! I also love punches especially bigger ones (anything over 1/2 in.) and don't have ANY! If you want any specific ideas I have a TON of stuff on my Amazon Wishlist. I also just got a cricut and love it! I would welcome any and all cartridges as I don't have many. I have a Cuttlebug and are always looking for new plates for it as well as cartridges for my Cricut (especially a Christmas one - as I have none)

  2. Sewing: I teach 2 different beginning sewing classes to kids and are always on the hunt for new easy fun projects. I LOVE vintage and retro fabrics, also new "vintage looking" fabrics (think Amy Butler, etc) if you have any. I also appreciate any scraps that you may have (cotton) as I have been making lots of scrap projects and can always use more options. ( size: at least 1 in. x 4 in. at the smallest). I also really like deep jewel tone fabrics.

  3. Makeup: I am a cool color person and I could really use some new eye liner (liquid or pencil) and black mascara. Otherwise, I don't use eye shadow much as I am allergic to most kinds. I like lipstick (but not hot pink ones) and I LOVE Bath & Body Works lipgloss (especially the mint kinds). I have green eyes and dark brown/red hair.

  4. Candy, Lipbalm, etc. If you wanted any ideas: If possible, I would love sugar free candy! I especially like bath and body works Mentha lip glosses also.

Favorite Crafts

Sewing, scrapbooking, organizing (is this a craft?) and learning new things. I am generally very crafty (in a good sense) and am always making some little thing or another. I just started back up scrap-booking and am needing to fill in my stash which is pretty non-existent currently. I use 12 x 12 albums, if that is helpful. I teach 2 different beginning sewing classes to kids and are always on the hunt for new easy fun projects. I LOVE vintage and retro fabrics, also new "vintage looking" fabrics (think Amy Butler, etc)

I liked what MistyPup50 said on how she doesn't want to keep thinking about the people who flaked, so I am not going to list them.

I'm the first...woooohoooooooooooo! I/my son received your matchbox cars in the mail today and he is soooo darn pleased! He doesn't even own one just like them so you've added to his collection. Yours will be in the mail this week of course. Thanks so much!
