About Me

Hello fellow swap-bots,

My name is Gina Wang. I am a graduate student in Taiwan studying English literature. I'm a quiet person who enjoy spending quality time with family and intimate friends.

I'm very glad to have found this website where so many creative and generous people are willing to share with others their crafts.

Favorite Books

Although I major in English literature, I don't withhold a bias in determining what is "literature." I can be an avid lover of Shakespeare and at the same time enjoy popular fiction like Harry Potter and Stephen King novels.

In fact, Stephen King is one of my favorite writers because he writes so plainly. He can tell such fascinating tall tales with serious sincerity.

Another one of my favorite writers is Margaret Atwood. I especially enjoyed The Blind Assassin, The Handmaid's Tale, and Oryx and Crake.

Favorite Movies

I am a movie lover. I enjoy drama, comedy, suspense, and thriller.

My favorite Pixar films include Up, Wall-e, Toy Story Series, Finding Nemo, and Ratatouille.

I am a nostalgic person; I like old films. Black and white comedies; early Tim Burton films, Star Wars, Hitchcock, and early Disney movies are some of the flicks that I never get tired of watching.

Favorite Crafts

I've only recently gotten interested in arts and crafts. I enjoy collecting ad cards, pamphlets, and magazine clippings, and then make them into non-commercial cards.

I enjoy drawing pictures. I have a little sketch book that I draw in from time to time. I usually stick to ball point pens.

In addition, I like to take photographs of interesting or beautiful scenery. I print these photos out, make them into cards, and sent them to friends. It is a way of sharing my life with others.

Old photographs is one of my favorite items. Also, I enjoy playing jig jaw puzzles.

I also love travelling and learning about foreign culture. Last year, I travelled to Italy and fell in love with the country. I love collecting postcards of natural and cultural beauty from all ober the world.

Comment: Thank you very much for your gorgeous scenic postcard. Sory there isn't any natursl beauties in Singapore, mostly man-made such as Sentosa Island and Marina Bay's Garden by the Bay. As for food, I wonder if you heard of chicken rice, chili crab, laksa, fried carrot cake, mee siam, fish bsll noodles, they are commonly found in most food shops. Hope you have a wonderful 2015-2016!
Response: The dishes you mentioned all sound absolutely delicious. I would love to try them. I really enjoy learning about the cultures of other asian countries. There are always so much diversity and similarities.

Comment: At first thank you for your really nice postcard and it was also nicce to hearing from you, what do you know about my country :) Yes, we have a lot of different typs of beer, actually I don't like it at all. My son likes to name all the different cars when he goes to Kindergarten and he can see a lot of the brands you have mentioned. Cities full of beaty and culture: I live in one of these. Wiesbaden is a citie full of culture, so if you like theater, beautyful buildings, green parcs, nice restaurants and so on, than visit Wiesbaden. If we can learn languages fast, I can't say. I have a lot problems with other languages than german.^^ So, thanks again for your postcard. Best wishes.

Comment: Thank you for the postcard with an old cartoon picture. I dont know its title but I like it . Your stamps with mushrooms were also nice. There is not only a book but also a movie with " The Neverending Story " which was taken about 28 years ago ( so old now ! ) , I like both of them. Hope you will enjoy them too.

Comment: Thanks for your nice postcard :) Your description of me was acutally very fitting, except for some details - my hair is blonde, not brown, and although I usually prefer comfy, simple clothing, I'm a total skirts/dresses girl in summer :)
