Hey I'm Denise, but everyone calls me Neesy Pea. I'm a Northern California native who just moved to the South with my ever so clever cartoonist hubby, (and now with my cute & growing preggo belly!)

My mother taught me the love of crafting, sewing, and crochet when I was a kid, and I never stopped.

I started my business, Heyday Fashion, in October of 2002. I love every second of it, and handcraft everything myself in a modest studio in Charlotte, NC, so check it out sometime!

So many things inspire me in my creative process: all the colors of the rainbow, polka dots, vintage & recycled materials, big puffy rain clouds, stories from grannies and everything cute and kitschy.

My wheels never stop spinning and I'm always creating something new!

Luv & Stitches Neesy

Sewing, crocheting, and paper crafts.

Supplies: Any kind of craft papers, rubber stamps, ribbons, sewing thread, yarn, vintage or recycled fabrics, vintage buttons, rick-rack, & gingham.

Colors: Turquoise, green, orange, yellow, red and brown.

Gardening: tulips, poppies, cala lilies or any kind of veggies.

Scents: Vanilla, cinnamon, heather, citrus, fresh scents like fabric softer/cotton, violet and lavender.

Food & Drink: Decaffeinated teas, hot cocoa, mac&cheese, potatoes, pasta, rice, ginger, cinnamon, vanilla, Mexican, Italian, Tai, avacados, cheese, and any kind of herbs or veggies! Caramel, dark chocolate, white chocolate, and toffee candies. Anything peach or blueberry flavored. Yum!

Miscellaneous: Anything retro cir 1950's-60's, old kitschy childrens books, vintage cook books or sewing books, rainbows, rain clouds, stripes, stars, polka-dots, anthropomorphized stuff, baking, cooking, & canning supplies.

My kitchen is red, yellow, and black with stainless appliances :)

French Country or any traditional country crafts like roosters or geese or teddy bears in sweaters. I also am not into the whole "shabby chic" look at all, roses or rose themed things, Mary Engelbreit, Winnie the Poo & Disney stuff. Not really a royal blue or purple fan either.

Lost, Project Runway, Food Network, HGTV/DIY Network craft shows, & Martha!

Lot's of 80's New Wave. Some 60's and 70's. Also love Morrissey & Radiohead.
