Hello,

My name is mandie, I wear alot of hats (much like many of you out there). I'm a mom of a wonderful seven year old boy, i work full time for a mystery shopping company as a scheduler. I love what i do for a living and i love being a mom even more. I just had my year aniversary for knitting. I taught myself how to knit during a very stressful time in my life. I used to do scrapbooking but then i found out i had to have brain surgery. I didn't know how long i would be in bed after my surgery and i knew i couldn't scrpbook lying down in my bed. With the help of Vicki Howell on her tv show Knitty Gritty i learned how to knit. I have been going crazy ever since. I have since taught several other people how to knit and even started my own charity. We knit and crochet squares, stitch them together and give them to the local foster care children. We have given over twenty afghans since our start in may. I have completed such things as beanie hats, the henry rollins doll (stitch N bitch nation book), baby sweaters, blankets, many designs from knitty.com and several things from the tv show knitty gritty. I have done many swaps before and always have fun meeting new people, making great friends and putting my packages together to send out. The last swap i was in was the coffee/yarn swap. I'm addicted to coffee and dark chocolate. My favorite colors are any shade of green, I love hand painted yarns. I am a sucker for strange yarns such as soy, bamboo, viscose and wool. I use alot of wool since felting is one of my favorite things to do.
