Hi there.
What shall I tell you about me?! I love postcards and handpicked stories. Surprise me with a little anecdote of the everyday life. Combined with a picture on the back and a stunning stamp up in the right corner. Sounds perfect to me!
No anecdote?! Well here are some ideas: What‘s the craziest thing you‘ve done for love? What are your favorite shoes? How would you describe your victory dance? Where do you go for good ideas?... Any questions? Ask me.
By the way I love everything from before the 1960s. I am always on the hunt for vintage curiosities like snapshots of everyday life, newspaper comic strips, popular science charts, as well as fashion magazines with stunning adverts, matchbox labels or cigarette cards and stamps. Oh and I am fan of gentlemen in suits, cocktails and showgirls or pin ups, which make me smile.
Whatelse?! If there is time I dive into books. How to describe my taste? Imagine Mandy Robotham meets Erich Kästner for a coffee and from time to time people like Natasha Lester or Naomi Wood joining the conversation about the roaring 20s and WW2. Sometimes I just buy a book, because of the great cover. Another thing I really enjoy is going to the cinema and theatre. Favorite movies?! Breakfast at Tiffany's, It's a wonderful Life, Mary Poppins...a bit newer...Life of Walter Mitty and Amsterdam. Oh and I simply love to dance... and do toe-tapping Charleston, glamorous musical theatre dance.
Well, I hope I could give you a foggy hint about myself. I am looking forward to hearing from you and even more to getting to know you. Smiles, Joana
PS.: Still unsure what to send? Well here are some more hints: washi tape - vintage ephemera - old movie poster or adverts from the 1920s to 1950s - movie stars like Lauren Bacall, Cary Grant or James Stewart - in general gentlemen in suits & cocktails - espresso with a dash of hot milk - book or magazine covers - maps & natural science charts - WWI & WWII military history - vintage travel poster - fashion & design - Art Deco & Bauhaus - elegant ballet, cheeky Burlesque or swinging Showgirls - weird, odd or risque humor - Pin Up & naughty postcards that make the postman blush - surprises.
P.P.S.: At this point I should admit a few DISLIKES: touristic postcards or Zazzle & brownish faked retro postcards please not for me. I am not interested in Disney, Hello Kitty, Zentagle or Color-In, creepy dolls, cute illustrations, religious or spooky themes. Oh and I don't need scrapbooking & craft supplies & paper. Sorry, I dont want to sound complaining.

I just found and was admiring a summer -themed flipbook you made for a swap in August 2020. It's so lovely and I wanted to tell you that it's still bringing me joy two years later. I hope you're having an amazing vacation!
Just because ♥
Sent you a little something today! : )
welcome to sunshine swaps!
Thank you Joana for the lovely surprise in the mail that I received today. What delightful goodies inside and the birthday wishes were lovely. I had a great day and my hubby made sure it was special and I got myself a record player and currently listening to Nirvana - Smells Like Teen Sprit. xx
Thank you for the unassigned Postcard Roulette card! I don’t know the artist but I love the art.
Thank you for the Hansestadt postcard that you have send me. Received it today.
Hi Joana. I see you've been playing PC Roulette like crazy! Thanks so much for the lovely John Ryan illustration card. And how nice to discover a new museum! I hope you enjoy fall as much as summer. Best wishes, David
Happy Birthday!
Thank you! I absolutely love the postcard you sent. I even do like the flies. Never would I say this, but they're cute on their. But I don't think flies are cute in real life.
I guess I really am a winner. I got two extra from the PC Roulette Comeback July 2018 swap.
Thanks again!!
