About Me

I'm a zinester. I've been writing zines since I was in high school.

I've been a bookseller for twelve years. Currently I'm a YA/Children's, Comics, and SF/F buyer.

I'm an aro/ace INFJ Neuroatypical Ravenclaw Nerdfighter XD

I love stationery and currently use three separate journals/planners (for work, gaming, daily journaling) as well as several notebooks (for zines.)

I play D&D and am currently GM-ing in an all-girl group.

I have two cats, Ollie (a calico) and Enjin (all black) - both are rescue cats.

Note: I've been on a long swap hiatus, and am excited to start swapping again now :)

Favorite Music

I'm currently obsessed with Hamilton and Dear Evan Hansen and Everybody's Talking About Jamie. (Other favourite musicals: RENT, Wicked, and Avenue Q)

I love Joy Division and The Smiths and Sarah Records' groups like Heavenly, St Christopher and The Field Mice. I love The Softies and Belle and Sebastian and Camera Obscura and Kings of Convenience. I also love Bikini Kill and Julie Ruin and Sleater-Kinney and Cibo Matto and Rancid and The Clash. Oh, and Tegan & Sara and She & Him.

Ella Fitzgerald/Louis Armstrong, and Charles Mingus. And Tsuji Ayano, and Bump of Chicken and One Ok Rock and Androp and Spitz and Suga Shikao.

And then there's Arashi. (They're a Japanese idol group, for those who don't know.) There is little I wouldn't do for Arashi.

Swapping & Rating

PLEASE remember to indicate which swap your card/package is from. I've received a lot of postcards with no swap name. Sometimes I receive swaps without the swapper's name! I can't rate these swaps as I have no idea who they're from and/or which swap they're from.

I try to rate always, but if you think your swap should have reached me and I haven't rated you, please contact me. I'm on a lot of postcard swaps, and sometimes a card or two slip through without me noticing. Usually I wait a long time before rating a "1", because I know that mail could take longer than usual to arrive. I try to contact people first before giving them a "1", and appreciate it when swap partners do the same.

**mail from Malaysia can take very long to arrive.

When it comes to postcards, I like everything. I try to collect a large variety of postcards - from as many different countries, and as many different subjects. I PREFER STORE-BOUGHT POSTCARDS to handmade or ad postcards, and I prefer weathered postcards to those in envelops.

Comment: Great card, I love the street scene. Thank you!
Comment: Awesome Malaysia card
Comment: Thank you for the postcards! I will be sure to be on the lookout for these books when I'm at the library. :) I've heard such great things about E. Lockhart, but haven't read anything. I didn't like "The Disenchantments" as much as I wanted to, but maybe I'd like "Everything Leads to You." I haven't heard of "Guy in Real Life," but you have me hooked with "commentary on gender"! How great to have an Asian protagonist in "To All the Boys I've Loved Before"! Yes! I've read YA Asian authors (Marie Lu, Malinda Lo), but their protags aren't full Asian, I don't think. And I haven't heard of "Noggin" or "The Last Best Kiss" either. I think you have great taste in books! Thanks for sharing these titles with me!

Marisa, I have been so anxious sending something over seas that you might not get my card. I mailed on 11-17 BUT I did not put it was from the Int'l Xmas card swap. It was my first and I forgot that major detail. It was a small handmade card in a clear envelope (I think - I can't remember if I might have put yours in a white envelope thinking it might be safer) I signed my name Janitha Bardos. I sure hope you might have gotten it. If not I will get another to you right away. Please let me know.
