Description:

Please read the requirements before joining this swap, thank you.

For this swap you must crochet 10 flowers for your partner. You may have two the same design but no more, so at least 5 different flowers. Please use contrasting colours (like pastels, brights or candy colours) and a minimum or four different colours must be used, no less but you can use more. Leaves and vines are optional but no stems so that your partner can mount them if they wish.

Please write a list of what flowers you crocheted (eg, the white one is a daisy, the pink one is a rose etc.) and include it in the swap. You can do this on a note card or just plain stationery.

These crocheted flowers can be used as brooches, appliques, on granny squares etc, once you receive them.

All loose threads must be hidden and flowers must be neat. Any gauge of wool is allowed so you can make them as big or as small as you like. Please try your best to make something nice for your partner.

There are tons of patterns and tutorials out there but please message me if you need some ideas.

Think sunflowers, roses, daises, poppies, I have even seen a beautiful folded iris crocheted flower as well.

nitty gritty

  • Partners will be assigned on the first of Jan and you will have 3 weeks before the send by date. Please do not sign up unless you can complete your flowers in that time.

  • Only rated swappers with at least 10 rated type 3 swaps.

  • In the interest of safe swapping, I reserve the right to ban where I see fit.

  • Only swappers with a 4.9 rating and no recent ones or threes.

  • felt, beads and embellishments can be used but the flowers must be primarily crocheted.

Have fun and please feel free to contact me with any queries or concerns.

Wow, thats pretty cool idea for a swap. I cannot crochet/ knit at all. This is still a lovely idea!

Is it required to use wool, or can we use other fibers like acrylic or cotton?

I'm way late for this swap (sadly) but if anyone is still looking for flower patterns, go check out http://www.crochetpatterncentral.com/directory.php; this is where I've gotten most of the patterns for my crocheted flowers.
