Sometimes I read a new cookbook and I weep because of all the amazing recipes and how little time I have to try each one. What if we pooled our resources and worked together?

For this swap, your intrepid hostess will post a number of recipes from one cookbook (they will be clear photos she takes of the recipes which you can then print out). Pick out one that you would like to try and do it! Take lots of pictures of your process and of the final product and then put it together in a blog post (or email) and send the link (or email) to your partner and CC to la hostess. Tell us how it tasted, whether or not you'd do it again, the tweeks you'd make and whatever else is germaine. She will then put everyone's writing and photos (and links and credit) on our special Gastronomery blog.

You may adjust the recipe to account for food preferences, dietary needs and availability of ingredients-- just let us know what you did!

Sounds like a great challenge BUT... (isn't there always a 'but'? ;) I wonder if there will be any recipes that I could make since I'm vegan ("strict vegetarian", if you like). Or dishes I can veganize, if that's allowed? I would appreciate your thoughts on the matter. Thanks! :)
