I have arrived at that stage in a woman's life when suddenly I am proscribed/supported/obligated/corralled/organized/indebted/ loved/enmeshed/tangled/swept away/rapturously reassigned radical new roles. I went from being an artist with a work space and lots of free time to a wife with a job and a brilliant, kind husband in '08. In '10 my first daughter was born. She fills my life and my heart like no other human ever has. A boy was born Oct '11. We love him so much! It is so much fun having another newborn in the house!

The upshot is that after a 3 year haitus from swap-bot, I am returning for the digital and limited flat mail swaps. Viva la email! I am especially interested in swaps I can execute from my phone.

I am a middle school art teacher. I have been teaching for the last 12 years-- K thru Adult Ed. I have taught everything from drawing (my specialty) to ceramics, to mixed media, to painting and digital art.

Complete sentences, correct spelling and solid sentence structure are wonderful things. Clear communication, honesty, courage, humility are things I try to imbue my writing with and that I enjoy reading in others' writings.

I enjoy elaboration, sensory writing, tangents, side-notes, footnotes, trivia, interesting facts and anything unique a writer has to offer.

--Life has gotten exceptionally crazy since I have returned to work. Check back here in the summer and I'll probably have a little more time to write-- Spring '12

I used to mail letters to friends all the time, filled with embarrassing personal tidbits, drawings, rants, raves and mundane daily events. My friends don't write me back anymore. If I sound interesting to you, PM me - and we can exchange addresses.

You won't find long laundry lists of likes, dislikes, favorite cephalopods, or the scents my raccoons prefer. Instead, I try to avoid profile-based swaps. That said, here are a few tuck-ins I will appreciate; tea-- any flavor, holy/saint cards, blank PCs, vintage photos, stationery/lettersets, unused postage, recipes & vintage ephemera.

Sometimes I browse the swap listings, and I can't find an appealing swap, so I write my own.

My latest brain children are the Smart Phone PC swaps. Use your smart phone to create and mail custom postcards. I use Postagram and Touchnote to take my cell phone photos and drawings and turn them into real postcards. Big fun and lots of potential.
