Description:

For this swap, you will have one partner for four weeks. You will send one thing to your partner for each of the four weeks.

  • Week 1 (April 1): A postcard with the premise of your novel (or script, or whatever you will be working on for Camp) and your personal goal for camp. The premise is one sentence that introduces your main character, the conflict, and the hook.
  • Week 2 (April 8): A letter (at least one page) about your main character and what has happened to him/her so far. Include one flat item for your partner to enjoy during Camp.
  • Week 3 (April 15): A postcard with a note of encouragement. You may choose to include writerly quotes, prompts, or funny little stories/
  • Week 4 (April 22): A letter (at least one page) telling your partner about your progress. Questions you can answer: What is your word count? Do you think you'll meet your goal? Did anything unexpected happen in your work? Did you stick with your original plan? Include one surprise for your partner to enjoy when Camp is over.

You must mail each item by the Friday of each week.

It would also be nice for you to reply to the person sending to you, but it is not a requirement. Items do not have to be Camp themed, but that would be cool!

We will all be busy writing, writing, writing toward our Camp goals, so long letters are not required. One page is enough.

Please rate the person sending to you a 5 as long as you receive two postcards and two letters with the information specified above.

I really need to read up on Camp Nano

Check out the website: campnanowrimo.org

It's pretty cool. Very much like NaNoWriMo, but you can set your own word count goal, and you get put in "cabins" which are like a virtual message board/chat with 5 other people. Pretty cool!

I signed up, and set my word count at 25,000, which is more doable for me.

I just wish I'd put a couple parameters on who I wanted for cabin mates, as the group is pretty diverse in ages. Not a bad thing, but could get awkward.

I think you still make changes. Some people have changed cabins more than once by adjusting their preferences. Check out the Camp NaNo Tech forum and see if there's anything they can do to help.

There's an option to change cabins. I just feel odd ,because I've already introduced myself. I'm still thinking on it.
