QnT Sweet 16's #5 purple

May 15 thru May 31

--a sweet 16 is a 9"X21-22" cut of 100% cotton quilting fabric

So, how do you buy (or select from your stash) Sweet 16's for this series of swaps? You get 1/4 yard cuts of 4 different fabrics then cut each of those 1/4 yard pieces in half leaving you with two 9"X21-22" pieces. Send your partner one SWEET 16 from each of the 4 different prints and keep the other SWEET 16's from each 1/4 yard for yourself.

We will have several of these Sweet 16's swaps this year and each one will be with a different theme or color option to choose from.

I found some fun books at the library that are full of patterns and quilt blocks made from Sweet 16 cuts of fabric.

Summary:

--1 partner

--4 purple print Sweet 16's (that's 4 different pieces of 9"X21-22" cuts of 100% cotton quilting fabric)

CLARIFICATION: one partner to receive from you 4 DIFFERENT print Sweet 16's. You will also get to keep a matching set of SWEET 16's for yourself. Note: a 1/4 yard of fabric cut in half equals two 9"X22" pieces or two SWEET 16's. Send one of each to your partner and keep the other for yourself.

Questions are welcome, please don't be shy and post them below!

next month will be pinks or yellows (senders choice) or a mixture of both (June)

the following month will be batik prints (July)

then next will be black and white prints (August)

next will be fall prints (September)

next will be 1930’s reproduction prints (4 different prints) (October)

next Christmas print fabrics (4 different prints) (November

last will be 4 different colors, senders choice but each print should be a different color (example: one red print, one green print, one lavender print, and one aqua print)

Swap-on!

Mostly I find these sweet16s not big enough for my needs, but i've started a project with many shades of purple and a 16 is just right. Happily I can buy FQs and then send my partner half and get different ones back.

I'm especially looking for ht darker shades of purple.

I got the book from the library again called 'sweet 16's' and the actual size is 9" X 11" so we have actually been swapping something larger. We will continue this series sending 9' X 22' and will use that as the title of the swap instead of Sweet 16's, so be watching for "Sweet 9"X22" swaps" instead of Sweet 16". I'm very sorry for the confusion, that was my error! I like the larger size that we've been sending better because you can do more with it.
