NOTE: I ALWAYS RATE, USUALLY THE DAY I RECEIVE A SWAP. I hope others treat swaps received from me the same way. I usually mail very soon after partners are assigned, so if you haven't received a swap, PM me, I'll resend.
UPDATE I move from NYC to Cape Cod the end of April. Not all group address listings have the change but it's in the general listing. If you need my adress, PM me and I'll give it to you. Beleive me this is a beautiful part of the country, I recommended it for a vacation and if you're going to be here, PM me, I'd love to meet you.
I'm am a traveler, a writer and a quilter and quite few other things maybe we won't go into. I have just retired and am settling into a new lifestyle which is quite exciting. I will have time for writing projects formerly put on hold and time for walks on the beach. Also time for pen pals which I've enjoyed since my teen-age years.
Things I like: cotton fabrics, suitable for quilting but I don't like most novelty prints and have not need for kiddie patterns as there are no small children in my life at present. I love all kinds of, chocolatel, teas but not fruit flavors and I don't like chai very much., I like allll colors - no special favorites. I don't like kawaii or other cutesy stuff. I don't need little odds and ends; I like useful things like pens, note cards, interesting postis, swap labels, small blank books. I don't scrapbook or make ATCs., dotees or any other little items. I do make fabric postcards. I especially like postcards with pictures of art or crafts on the front, if it's your art or craft that would be super.
I'm a pretty serious person. I love the writing swaps and ones including poetry. Since I quilt passionately I love the fabric swaps - fabric is something I have really stashed up in. As well as quilt books, ribbons and buttons too. I especially collect fabrics that have some metallic in their patterns and also sky and landscape-y designs. I like rubber stamps with patterns I can stamp on fabric or envelops & stationary. Beautiful stationary and envelopes make me very happy.
I really appreciate notes that tell me about who you are and where you live. Knowing what makes people individual is the fun part of any correspondence, even on postcards.
Classical, the usual big names, Beethoven, Mozart, Schubert, and just about the whole mixed bunch. I play the piano and especially enjoy all sorts of piano music.
I prefer European movies to American, usually. Loved Lord of the Rings. Want good acting rather than entertainment or thrills or even laughs. Admire good script writing which occasionally happens in American movies, but not often.
Do not have a TV, consider most of it mind numbing drek. I read A LOT! I do not read genre books, as I said I'm pretty serious and especially about literature. I like books by important foreign authors, poetry, books about nature or people's travels and many kinds of non-fiction but not self-help or new age. Please don't send me books. I'm really picky.
The only books I'd like to receive are blank journals or nice little notebooks that I can carry in a purse.
Quilting most of all. I like other people's textiles but I can't knit or crochet and don't embroider or do needlepoint although I used to do both. I like and use all colors. I do not care much for small prints, I'm not into vintage. I rarely use lace or rick-rack but I love interesting buttons and ribbons. I sell quilts and am open to personal swaps of my quilts and something you have or make.
All writing is craft; I write A LOT, love writing letters, as well as poetry, fiction, nonfiction and journals -- also my blogs. One is supposed to be about quilting but is also about what I'm reading or concerned about. I recently started a second blog that is for my serious side and for occasional crabby rants. I'd love it if people who go to my blogs would leave a note. I'd be thrilled if you liked it eough to recommend it or subscribe.

Hello and thanks for the sweet comment :) It was from the Gimme Mail #2 swap. Have a great day and I'm glad you liked everything!
I received the little book with animal stencils from you today for "I have what you want". Thanks!
Yay another story from JuneMoon! :D First it was The Goo is Blue, and now it's Shangri-La. I enjoyed reading them - I hope you enjoyed writing them too. Thanks! :)
I was looking through a drawer and discovered your story from Found Inspiration #1, and realized I'd never mentioned that I'd gotten it! And I did! A long time ago! Anyway, just letting you know that I really enjoyed it. Thanks and happy writing! :)
Thank you so much for the package you sent for my October wishlist! It is so appreciated and will be thoroughly used, especially come November!
Thank you for the wonderful October Wishlist package June! I truly love it! I really enjoyed your letter - I haven't read any of Mary Oliver's poetry. I'll have to get some from the library next time I go. She sounds wonderful! Thank you so much for thinking of my children - they really enjoyed your post cards! :-)
Thanks for joining the Passionate Poets 'rustling leaves' swap!
Thanks so much for the soft, pretty flannel. Talyn
Hi June,
Thank you so much for sharing your poem about quilting. What a lovely surprise to find it in my mail yesterday.
I've read it three times already and I know I'll read it again because each time I do, it makes me feel so good.
Patty
Your poem postcard is on its way - hope it doesn't take too long to get there. Trivia point: I made the three postcards before partners were assigned (though I waited for the poems) and was delighted to find that the quilt-themed one I'd made would have the perfect owner! Enjoy....
