Description:

We all have a memory that we want to hold on to -- a sunset, perhaps, or a perfect day; a place we loved to be in, a person we held dear, an event that captured the mind or spirit ...

I have a belief in the power of accessories to make us smile and help us remember when we need a little boost.

Share a memory with your partner so that they can craft or find an accessory that captures a bit of that moment or place or person or ... that you want to remember.

Put some enthusiasm in finding, creating, altering or putting together an accessory or set of accessories that captures a swap partner's memory. Check profiles or ask appropriate questions (ie, to make sure that your partner's ears are pierced if you plan to make earrings) as necessary to carry out your mission.

Let's have great ratings (PM me to set up a private swap if need be), be generous with our memories and our partner's best efforts, and have fun! I will angel all my swaps but always hope that I don't have to ...

The swap graphic, by the way, means "I remember," and is one of my memories of a trip to Quebec :) Not intended to be political at all, if there are any Canadians participating, merely a memory of license plates!

Could you please provide an example of a memory, and then an item to send your swap partner to commemorate the memory? Just want to be sure I understand this swap!

Sure! Thanks for the question -- I sometimes need a reminder to be more clear :)

For example, say that I share a memory of walking along a river -- I want it to be a bit detailed so my partner can figure out what could remind me of my river walk. So, for example, I could share that it was walking along the Mississippi River in St. Paul, Minnesota, and it was summertime ... everything was very very green and I would walk all the way down to the Peace Bridge and cross over into Minneapolis. If I walked very early in the morning, I would see mist rising off the river and the occasional barge. There were some people, but not so many that I would feel crowded. It helped me be calm, I was working a lot and in nursing school, so the peace and calm was welcome!

My partner could take that detail, and upcycle a necklace by decoupaging the words "river" and "walk" on it, or make earrings with a walking shoe and a barge on them, or a find a scarf that is decorated with images of the Mississippi River and Minnesota, or alter a feather fascinator with the colors of green and the blue river to include a spray of beads that looks like white mist.

I was imagining us describing our memories in a fun way that could allow our partners to imagine them with us and then create something with that image in mind. Whether the creation completely captures the memory or not, it would be fun to try to visualize what a memory "looks" like :)

Hope that describes the idea better -- let me know!

Yeah, I love stuff like this. I'm in. Hope others decide to join.

Me, too! I'd love more input about what might make a good group swap, as well.
