Description:

The August 2013 Fandom in a Mini Bag swap is Stargate,

Step 1: Please list in the comments your favorite characters, series, episodes, moments, items, etc.

Step 2: After partners are assigned, check to see what your partner likes. You can follow-up with a message if you need to know more. Then scrounge up, buy, and/or create items that fit in a bag. Your bag must contain at least 5 different items although more is certainly encouraged to make your bag look full of goodies.

Some ideas of themed items: stickers, ATCs, postcards, toys/action figures, comics, note cards, pins/buttons, magnets, jewelry, trading cards, charms, ornaments, bookmarks, address labels, plushies/stuffies, promo stills/autograph cards, fanfic drabbles/ficlets, etc.

More specific ideas: mini stargate/DHD, stargate address book, jaffa tattoos, replicator pieces, communication stones, stargate ring, language dictionaries, mission notes, Atlantis blueprints, team patches, etc.

Be sure to check your partner's profile so you don't send anything he or she might be allergic to.

Step 3: Put the items in a ziplock-type bag. Size: 1 quart (AT LEAST 8.5inches by 7 inches or 21.5cm by 18cm). You can decorate the bag or incorporate the bag into something (mount it or sew something around it). If you want to make or buy a bag instead of using a ziplock plastic one, that's fine as well, but it should be at least a quart in size. All items you gather or create should fit into the bag (if a couple are too big, that's fine).

Assemble your bags during the month of August and please send by the deadline (September 2)

Group rating rules apply. NO FLAKING ALLOWED! All flakers will have their memories wiped and be sent to a town ruled by the evil queen.

I've watched the movie, SG-1, follow-up SG-1 movies, Atlantis, and Universe. Early-to-mid SG-1 is my favorite of them all, though I do love the dynamics in Atlantis as well. Universe had a great cast and storyline but was too dark for me and so many episodes made me nervous that something awful was going to happen at any moment. I have not seen Infinity.

I love the whole Stargate 'verse. The goa'ulds using Egyptian God/Goddess names, the Jaffa freedom fighters and the Tok'ra, the SG-1 teams, the Asgard, etc. And I love hating the goa'ulds--oh, they're such great bad guys! And I love the dynamic between the "Earthlings" and the kids in the movie.

Favorite character: DANIEL JACKSON!!!!!!! Also really like: Jack, Sam, Teal'c, Hammond, Jonas, Dr. Fraiser, Bra'tac, Rodney, Shepard, Carson, Weir, Teyla, Ronon,

Favorite episode: Window of Opportunity!!!!!!!!!! Also really like: anything where Daniel is adorably geeky, anything where there's a strong team dynamic, Need, Abyss, The Light, Beneath the Surface, Ascension, One False Step, The Gamekeeper, Fragile Balance, Serpant's Lair, Urgo,The Changeling, Solitudes, Singularity.

Ships I sail: Jack/Daniel and Shepard/McKay are my big ones. I don't mind Jack/Sam or anything in canon. I love the teams/ensembles as a whole as well (gen).

The only SG thing I own are Stargate coasters.

Favorite Characters: Cameron Mitchell, John Sheppard, Daniel Jackson, Vala, and Dr. Lee. I ship Mitchell with Jackson, Shepard, or McKay, and McKay/Sheppard. I like Mitchell because he's a good ole boy who fanboys SG-1, and I like Sheppard because he's such a quirky loner and likes to geek out with McKay.

Favorite Episodes: I only started watching during S9 and 10, but I've watched most of the big older episodes. I liked Ripple Effect, 200, Unending, anytime the team is wearing leather or in an alternate universe/timeline. I really like the first two seasons of Atlantis, and then it gets a little more hit and miss. Then again, I loved Woolsey as the boss, and I wish it had been him sooner. I like the idea of them being alone in the Pegasus Galaxy and having to acclimatize with the locals.

Favorite Stuff: I liked the mythology and the line they walked with religion/spirituality. I liked the military aspect (the uniforms and thigh holsters!) of the SGC and flouting the fraternization rules in the team dynamics. I liked when Atlantis was cut off and/or hard to get to, because that was more interesting to me. I love how quotable the show is from start to finish. I'd like general 'Gate or Atlantis (the city) stuff too, if seasons 9/10 aren't my partner's favorites. I know they were awful polarizing for fandom.

My favorite Series is SG Atlantis - never saw SG Universe. I like the first seasons of the original Series, but the more they pressed for Sam/Jack the less I liked it. I totally ship Jack/Daniel and my favorite is McShep (John/Rodney).

Favorite Characters: John Sheppard, Rodney McKay, Jack O'Neill, Daniel Jackson, Ronon, Carson Beckett, Teyla Emmagan, Evan Lorne, Radek Zelenka.

Favorite Episodes: Hide & Seek, 38 Minutes, Duett (Though it should have been Sheppard that was kissed :o), No mans Land, Sateda, McKay and Mrs. Miller, Tao of Rodney, Reunion, Tabula Rasa, Millers crossing, Midway, The shrine, Critical mass

I love the snarking and geeking between McKay and Sheppard, the way Ronon and Sheppard team up against Rodney and the pranks they do, the scottish accent of Carson, can't think of anything else right now....

Favorite series is probably SGA, although I did watch a ton of SG-1. I tried SGU, but couldn't get into it.

Favorite characters/ships: Sam Carter, Cameron Mitchell, John Sheppard, Rodney McKay, Teyla Emmagen, Todd the Wraith (crazy sort of bad guy ftw!). I usually ship McKay/Sheppard, but other pairings don't bother me.

Favorite Episodes: (SG1) Window of Opportunity, (SGA) The Storm & The Eye, The Long Goodbye, Common Ground

I loved the snark and the team dynamics/found families theme. I like the slice of life stuff in Atlantis best, with the expedition adapting to being alone in the universe. (With space vampires.)
