Description:

I picked up some paperback books, because of the covers and an idea was hatched. Some of those old paperbacks have beautiful covers and would make excellent postcards with a little trimming and cropping. Find an old paperback with an interesting cover and back.Buy it. Take the covers off and trim them down to 4X6. That's inches. Don't ask me to convert. Save the pages of the book for another swap. Since there is a front and a back you will have 2 partners to send one apiece. Write somethimg nice like Sweater weather is..Picnicing in......Get it? Start looking before assigment of partners if you want. Have fun! Remember hearts are always a plus when you mail on time.

4x6inches is about 10x15 cm

What a great idea for a hand made postcard, hugs :-)

Thanks, Swan! It's so nice, at my age, to have friends who know these things.HUG!

I have the perfect picture, but it's too big :<

cerwinrhiannon 05/21/2008 #

Would it be OK to send just one that isn't the exact size? The picture is too perfect to cut it down any more.

jeanland 05/21/2008 #

Cerwinrhiannon ~ I think the only problem with the size is that the Post Office might charge you a little more for an oversized post card... but it's not much of a difference... maybe 25 cents or something.

But I guess some people might want to put these into sleeves of a certain size? For me though... I would love an oversized one! :)

cerwinrhiannon 05/21/2008 #

I'll pay the extra. No problem!

knitmom7 05/23/2008 #

It's between the 3 of you. Actually since you're mailing overseas, can you cut the back down? Post a comment to them if they want a certain size then go from there. Don't give them any particulars unless you want to. Otherwise you can save it until next month. Hint.
