Description:

Used postage stamps are so versatile! I have made decoupaged boxes with them, and some people make jewelry and other things with them! And it is just FUN to see stamps from other countries!

For this swap you will have 2 partners and will send them each 25 used postage stamps. They can be from any country (no more than 5 stamps from any one country), either on or off paper. Stamps must be in excellent condition - the perforations should be complete (if the stamp has perforations). Absolutely No Damaged Stamps whatsoever! (bent, torn, half on and half off a paper).

No 1 or 3 ratings in the past 12 months.

Enjoy!!

Could you please tell me how to get the stamps off of the paper correctly to avoid damaging them?

Modern postage stamps can not be removed from paper because of the way they are made. They will fall apart. I don't know the date when they started making self adhesive stamps, but probably in the 1990's.

To get older stamps off the paper, trim the stamps so there isn't much paper around them (without damaging the perforations). Set them in a bowl of warm water and let them soak. The paper will go to the bottom of the bowl, and the stamps will float.

Take them out of the water and Gently pat them with a paper towel. Then place them on blotting, or absorbent in a single layer. Cover the last sheet with a paper towel, and place heavy books on top of them until the stamps are dry. It could take several days for them to dry. Carefully lift them off the paper when dry, and that's it!

What a pity that this is US only! I mean, wouldn´t it be fun to exchange stamps from different countries? Since it´s flat mail it shouldn´t be too expensive.
