Description:

I was thinking how much fun it would be to construct a quilt with different blocks that we would do on a monthly basis. What better block to start with than the "Friendship Star Quilt Block"?

If you love quilting and would love to receive beautiful quilt blocks from your friends here in the group that you would then put together into a quilt at the end of the 12 months, this swap is for you!

The swap will consist of senders choice of colors so you can start working on your block right away. The finished size of the block will be 12" x 12". An example of the block can be seen at the following link:

http://quilting.about.com/od/starquiltblockpatterns/ss/Friendship-Star-Quilt-Block-Pattern.htm

Please do your best work and make something you've love to receive. I will host a different block pattern each month so don't forget to come back and check out the next month.

Only partners with a rating of 4.95 will be allowed to swap. No flaking please.

I was reconsidering the size of the block and think perhaps I should have made the finished block 12.5" x 12.5" to allow for a small seam allowance when incorporating into a quilt......what do you all think?

It's been suggested to me that a lovely way to join all our pieces once we've spent the year swapping is to put a solid color like Black, White or some other color in between the blocks to connect them. Won't that be awesome looking...I'm excited about the swap and hope that we will have lot's of partners.

You may want to make the unfinished block size 12.5x12.5 (this would be the size we send our swap partners). When it is incorporated into a quilt then the finished block would be 12x12.

Love the sashing idea!

well just so ya'll know, i had a partner contact me that she had already made her block 12x12 so i'm going to leave this one as is. if you would like to change it from here on out, would you please message me so i can change it for the next one? I figured that even if it does change then we could just use this one block for something else. Or we can keep it at 12x12 and this one will fit right in...just let me know. thanks so much for joining the swap and i hope you'll continue each month with us so you'll have a pretty quilt to finish at the end of the year...Hey, that could be one of your Christmas presents out of the way! Merry Christmas to you all and may all your hopes and dreams come true in the new year. Shelley

Okay, so that means that the unfinished size is going to be 12.5x12.5? just checking.
