Welcome, I want you to know I'm very serious about swapping and the friends I make here. I will never flake. If you don't receive something from me for a swap or tag, please pm me right away. I can't fix it if I think it got to you in the mail.
I found this quote today on a friends profile and I hope they don't mind me borrowing it. It just about sums it all up!
"Happiness is the consequence of personal effort. You fight for it, strive for it, insist upon it, and sometimes even travel around the world looking for it. You have to participate relentlessly in the manifestations of your own blessings. And once you have achieved a state of happiness, you must never become lax about maintaining it. You must make a mighty effort to keep swimming upward into that happiness forever, to stay afloat on top of it." — Elizabeth Gilbert (Eat, Pray, Love)
I enjoy crafting so I hope that you'll like what I make for you. If you don't please let me know so that I can make you something that you do like. I try very hard to do the best job I can, I promise that will happen with each and every swap.
I'm married to my husband David for 20 years. My sons Bryon and Brett are grown 26 and 27 and so it's just the hub and I and the dog! We have a lovely little wire fox terrier named Annie. She's like one of our children.
Love 60's & 70's rock and roll, blues, new age, and most anything actually.
I love all kinds of music because I'm usually in a different mood each time I listen. I especially like cd's I can play while doing massage. So they have to be very calming and peaceful but not depressing. I love strings and piano music. But when I want to rock out, I love 70's rock n' roll to Stevie Ray Vaughn,Journey (I saw Steve Perry up close and personal in Mobile, Alabama while I was in the US Navy at one of their concerts and I was hooked every since), Heart, Bob Seger, Fleetwood Mac, Jimi Hendrix, Jim Morrison, B.B. King, Beatles, Elvis etc. When I was a kid, I had a full set of Beatles and Elvis cards. Still have them! Variety is the spice of life they tell me!
I love to read now that I'm older. I have a lot of self help books, jewelry making books, craft books etc. Anything with lot's of pictures! Especially quilting books! I'm collecting quite a collection of quilting mag's. I love altered art books, how to's etc. I read every Belle Amour Mag I can find, Stampington, Where Women Create, Altered Couture, Their Sewing one as well, Handmade etc. Anything and everything through Stampington. I can't get enough! I love the back issues as well so if you have some you want to get rid of, I'd love to trade something to you, even jewelry I make, I don't care!
I like using old books for my art creations. Especially old kids books as well as foreign books in other languages other than English. The odd shaped kids books are cool and fun to re-cover and turn into quote books, prayer books etc.
Let's see - there's Forest Gump, Legend of the Falls, Man From Snowy River I & II, Slingblade, MIracle on 34th Street, It's a Wonderful LIfe, All Shirley Temple Movies, Peter Pan, Dirty Dancing (I used to could move like that), Wizard of Oz, Caddy Shack, Kingdom of Heaven, and Pretty Woman of course It's one of my all time favorites. ! Especially the part when she goes back into the store that refused to wait on her because of the way she looked! That's one of my pet peeves in life, people who judge people based on the way they look....too bad some people do that. Top Gun, Scent of a Woman (Pacino is still my man!) I like love stories and chic flics as my husband calls them. Annie, hum, why can't I think when I need to? OH, Oh, anything Johnny Depp of course. Who wouldn't love that man? Not much on blood and gore! I like to watch movies, but don't get the remote often! Not in a home with 3 men!
Love HGTV shows, anything home decorating, home building (especially green building) anything crafting etc. I'm watching The Real Housewives of New York and am amazed at their lifestyles. Not knocking them, but do people REALLY live like that? I think it's almost funny at times. Love basketball (college) my youngest son played in high school and those were some exciting games. I like watching JTV (jewelry television) because I learn so much about gemstones when they have them on and it helps me in my creating beautiful jewelry for people to enjoy. I like watching shows on the paranormal, especially Ghost Hunters!
My favorite crafts - sewing, quilting, silversmithing, drawing, making old vintage items into new things. I love taking old broken stuff and making it into something new and unique. I've recently started to learn to quilt. I'm having fun with making yo-yo quilts. My silversmithing is something I enjoy very much. I've been doing it about 10 years now and my designs are very unique and one of a kind. You can see my work at the link above or in my etsy shop. I hope you'll check out my webpage. I've also started to learn to draw...Hey, I'm only 53 and it's never too late to become artistic. FAVORITE COLORS: i love pink anything! i like all colors pretty much except burgandy. nothing wrong with it, it's just not me! i love combo's of pink/brown, black/white, red/black, red/jadeite green or mint green, turquoise/brown, hot pink/orange, yellow/white. did i say pink? i love floral fabrics a lot. but i'm really finding that i love vintage repro fabric prints and the real thing vintage cloth, flour saks etc. i love batiks especially in blues and greens. i love bright cheery prints, NO plaids please, NO burgandy please...However, i'm just pretty happy go lucky and pretty easy to please with anything handmade. i love handmade...i love upholstery prints and i love upholstery sample books to use the fabric for purses that i make.

It's time to start planning the spring garden. My little slice of heaven as I call it. I love Spring. I love to garden on my patio. I have deer and rabbits where I live so I have to keep things in pots on my large patio, but I love planting flowers, herbs, vegetables, etc to eat and make things from. I love lavender, so I grow it and then make stuff from it. I use a lot of herbs in my cooking, so any seeds are especially loved. I love flowers, I have hummingbirds and butterflies so anything that attracts them is great. I also like to grow things like greens, lettuce etc. for my pet bunny. I have a Wire Fox Terrier "Annie" that keeps me busy and entertained while I work in my plants. I enjoy listening to my wind chimes and I make them from copper and old utensils. I like little crystals, etc. on the patio too! I like to place little surprises like that in my plant pots.
I'd love to have:
text, book pages, music pages, charms, glitter paint or pens, bits of vintage stuff like lace, buttons, keys, metal gears, crochet dish clothes and crochet anything! etc.
i love bracelets and wear a size 7 to 71/2". Rings sizes 7 and 8. for necklaces i like a longer length like no shorter than 20". I'm plus size so I don't like tight things around my neck. But a choker style would be around 18" no shorter. I wear mostly silver but like the antiqued brass and other metals that are so popular now too. I'm not into gothic styles though. Although i think some of it is pretty, it's just not me. i like jewelry in most any color except burgandy and i don't like plastic or acrylic beads. i love making little boxes. so paper for handmade ones are wonderful, i love matchboxes too, so anything to decorate them with, ribbon, charms, paint, little things to go inside
altered book making materials and instructions (i'm just figureing them out)
Card making stuff Rubber stamps Ink pads for making cards etc.
Vintage fabrics, or squares cut for quilt making, Love florals of anything, paper, fabric etc. I'm really into making yo-yo quilts these days so any yo-yo's you have made up would be lovely. I also use them to make necklaces, embellish purses etc. Ask me about sizes.
Vintage fabric and vintage repro's fabric are grand! I'm going to be making a red and black quilt soon for my son who went to Texas Tech and that is their colors. So I'm looking for red or black printed fabrics that I can use. Even small flower prints are ok if anyone has any to trade, i'd love to do a trade for some of what you might need. Things for jewelry making
Vintage/Antique photos of people
vintage (or new) rick-rack, vintage seam binding (satin kind)
vintage embroidery pieces like table linen - especially flowers
Things from around the world...anything!
Vintage ephemera
Unusual crafting supplies - I love old stuff!
Sea Glass
Anything handmade
Beads (I have plenty) Foam sheets Candy

I don't care for things from homes where there is smoking. Cat hair (I'm allergic to cats) I don't like stickers just slapped onto an atc or matchbox, a little bit of effort goes a long way I don't like it when people don't write some sort of short comment on ratings...take a minute, slow down and tell me something you liked about what i made you so i will know it's pleasing to others, it only takes a minute
