I will always mail my swaps and I'm very serious about following through so if you don't hear from me or receive something from me, please let me know as soon as possible and hopefully before rating and give me the chance to fix it. I can't fix what I don't know is wrong and if I say I'm going to fix it, I will. I promise.
I am a silversmith and a practicing massage therapist. My silversmithing came at a time in my life when I was not physically well so I turned to jewelry making. You can see some of my creations at
www.zhibit.org/slewis234
I love designing and making jewelry. I've been a silversmith for about 8+ years and enjoy creating with my hands. My designs use sterling silver, gold, brass or copper, beads and found objects. I mostly make one of a kind pieces but do occasionally reproduce in limited editions.
I really enjoy sewing and making crafts. I'm getting into quilting... I love all colors, earth tones, pinks, purples, blues, jewel tones, bright cheery colors and prints. Love florals! I love fabric! I'm a pink person, it looks good against my face! So I love it! I'm plus size for anything that I have to wear. I am currently a 2x on top, and same on bottom, but losing weight after stomach surgery. I hope to be a size 12 again one day!
I am married I have two wonderful sons who are grown (ages 24 and 25) David is a pipeline welder. He spent many a year in the early years of our marriage on the road out of state working. We like to make metal stuff together! My oldest son lives here, is learning to weld. David lost his job a month ago, so he's not currently employed. My youngest son is finishing his Masters in Accounting and will become a CPA upon graduating. He graduated with a Business degree from Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Tx. He's Red Raider tride and true! I love my boys. I cherish the memories of their tiny little hands in mine and each day I"ve had with them in my life. I'm so blessed.
Love 70's rock and roll, blues, new age, and most anything actually. I love all kinds of music because I'm usually in a different mood each time I listen. I especially like cd's I can play while doing massage. So they have to be very calming and peaceful. I love strings and piano music. But when I want to rock out, I love 70's rock n' roll to Stevie Ray Vaughn etc. Variety is the spice of life they tell me!
I love to read now that I'm older. I have a lot of self help books, jewelry making books, craft books etc. Anything with lot's of pictures! Especially quilting books! I'm ammassing quite a collection of quilting mag's. I love altered art books, how to's etc.
I like using old books for my art creations. Especially old kids books as well as foreign books in other languages other than English.
Let's see - there's Forest Gump, Man From Snowy River I & II, Slingblade, MIracle on 34th Street, It's a Wonderful LIfe, All Shirley Temple Movies, and Pretty Woman of course It's one of my all time favorites. ! Especially the part when she goes back into the store that refused to wait on her because of the way she looked! That's one of my pet peeves in life, people who judge people based on the way they look....too bad some people do that. Top Gun, Scent of a Woman (Pacino is still my man!) I like love stories and chic flics as my husband calls them. Legends of the Falls. Annie, hum, why can't I think when I need to? OH, Oh, anything Johnny Depp of course. Who wouldn't love that man? Not much on blood and gore! I like to watch movies, but don't get the remote often! Not in a home with 3 men!
Love HGTV shows, anything home decorating, home building (especially green building) anything crafting etc. I'm watching The Real Housewives of New York and am amazed at their lifestyles. Not knocking them, but do people REALLY live like that? I think it's almost funny at times. Love basketball (college) my youngest son played in high school and those were some exciting games. I like watching JTV (jewelry television) because I learn so much about gemstones when they have them on and it helps me in my creating beautiful jewelry for people to enjoy. I like watching shows on the paranormal, especially Ghost Hunters!
Oh well, jewelry making of course, sewing, taking photos (especially black and white), quilting, handmade gifts, growing herbs, making herbal oils, perfumes and natural body products. I'm really having fun with the handmade atc's and the little matchboxes. i love boxes of all kinds but these are really fabulous and what great treasures inside. etc. I bought a vintage little plastic cabinet from an antique store, it was like a small button cabinet. It was filled with antique buttons and I thought I had died and gone to heaven! I love old lace. Especially hand tatted. I am enjoying making anything out of paper. I want to do an altered book soon. Very soon! I would draw if I could, but I love drawings. Altering dominoes, glass tiles, little scabble pieces, puzzle pieces, pieces of metal, chip board, little watch parts...especially vintage ones...I'd love to come across someone going out of the watch business after about 50 years...can you imagine what fun that would be going through those little containers, boxes, drawers, omg, it would be like Christmas magnified 1 million times!
I love to garden on my patio. I have deer and rabbits where I live so I have to keep things in pots on my large patio, but I love planting flowers, herbs, vegetables, etc to eat and make things from. I love lavender, so I grow it and then make stuff from it. I use a lot of herbs in my cooking, so any seeds are especially loved. I love flowers, I have hummingbirds and butterflies so anything that attracts them is great. I also like to grow things like greens, lettuce etc. for my pet bunny. I have a Wire Fox Terrier "Annie" that keeps me busy and entertained while I work in my plants. I enjoy listening to my wind chimes and I make them from copper and old utensils. I like little crystals, etc. on the patio too! I like to place little surprises like that in my plant pots.
I love going to flea markets and antique shops to see what treasures I can find. Love stuff my grandmother would have used, or sewn, or such. I love little bags filled with tid bits and odds and ends that I can then turn into lovely jewelry, matchboxes, cards etc. I really like vintage stuff. I love things that have a story connected to them. I recently got some things from a flea market lady and she told me some of the stuff was her grandmothers. So I love making things that someone tells me a little history about it.Really enjoy Vintaj's website and victorian steampunk designs. I love taking lot's of old stuff and making it into one piece of jewelry like an old pocket watch and turning it into a pendant with other little stuff or pictures inside. Or, hanging the little tiny arms from a watch onto handmade earrings...they are so cool! Love old skeleton keys and old rusted stuff, bits of vintage lace, vintage buttons etc!
I'd love to have:
atc supplies (paper snip it's, transparancies, prints, text, book pages, music pages, charms, glitter paint or pens, glitter, bits of vintage stuff like lace, buttons, keys, metal gears, etc.
i love making little boxes. so paper for handmade ones are wonderful, i love matchboxes too, so anything to decorate them with, ribbon, charms, paint, little things to go inside
i like glass tiles for making into necklaces, etc.
altered book making materials and instructions (i'm just figureing them out)
Scrapbooking and Card making stuff Rubber stamps Ink pads for making cards etc. I would love to have some circle, heart, etc. punches like 1 inch size or so for punching shapes. Even used ones are great. I don't have any and really can't afford to add them right now.
I love handfelted yarn to add to things, jewelry (especially rich colors)
Vintage fabrics, or squares cut for quilt making, Love florals of anything, paper, fabric etc. I'm really into making yo-yo quilts these days so any yo-yo's you have made up would be lovely. I also use them to make necklaces, embellish purses etc. Vintage fabric and vintage repro's fabric are grand!
Beads (I have plenty) Foam sheets I do not knit or crochet (I wish I knew how!) But I do love crocheted dishclothes. They are so soft! Candy
