Description:

I have a good collection of old plastic prescription medicine bottles laying around because they are nice to store small things in them! I'm sure many of you have pill bottles laying around weather it be prescription bottles, vitamin bottles, or allergy medicine! Lets put then to use and make them look pretty than add a small surprise inside for your partner! It's kinda like a matchbox decorating or whimsy jar but with a pill bottle!

RULES

  • MOST IMPORTANT - If you haven't signed in the day before I post partners I will remove you from the swap, no questions asked. I know some people can't sign in every day, but please sign in the day before partners are posted so that I will know you are still around and are still wanting to swap. Partners will be posted the day after the sign up date, for those who wonder when they will be posted - THERE ARE NO EXCEPTIONS TO THIS RULE

  • I will be checking profiles and dashboards, and if you have swaps in your dashboards that you are sending late or have not sent by the due date, regardless if you contacted your partner for that swap or not, you will NOT be able to join this swap

  • You will have 1 partner, and you will use any kind of medicine bottle you have laying around and if you don't have any laying around maybe ask a friend or family member! The shape and size don't matter at all.

  • Please wash out the pill bottle first though because medicine can leave a powder residue inside of them.

  • You then will decorate the bottle in Halloween Theme however you feel fit since you are the artist!

  • What you use as a surprise to fill it with (Needs to be Halloween Theme as well) is senders choice, but if you are able to fill it with things you know they'll like based off their profile kudos to you :-D

  • If you are having trouble thinking what to put inside your bottle some ideas could be (Halloween Theme): stickers, labels, candy (in wrapper please), ribbon, lace, any odds and ends laying around like ephemera. You get the drift now!

  • Please include your ID and swap name in with your swap on a separate piece of paper. If you want to tell your partner how you got the bottle or why you chose the goodies you did to put in the bottle, you can do that, but it is NOT a requirement for the swap

  • Please be fair when rating. If an effort was made to decorate the bottle and it was filled with goodies, please rate a 5 no matter what it looks like. Not everyone is super crafty like other people...

  • DO NOT SIGN UP if you can not send a decorated pill bottle with goodies inside

  • You must have a rating of 4.99 or higher to join, and no unexplained 3's or 1's in the last 6 months. Also, if you have excess 3's for lateness (more than 2), you will be banned. Newbies not allowed this time, sorry.

  • This swap is USA Only

  • Any user that has a rating lower than 4.99, is not from the USA, doesn't have a complete profile, is a newbie with no ratings, or is iffy will be banned from the swap

  • IF YOU THINK ABOUT FLAKING OR SENDING LATE DON'T JOIN!!!!! - I am giving everyone 1 month to mail this out. I understand things come up, but excessive lateness is not acceptable.

  • CONTACT YOUR PARTNER IF YOU ARE GOING TO BE LATE, AND CONTACT THEM BEFORE THE SEND OUT BY DATE IF YOU AREN'T GOING TO BE ABLE TO SEND BY THEN

  • If there is a problem, please contact me and we can discuss it. If you see someone on the list that you know has given problems in the past or if I miss a bad swapper, please contact me personally, not in the comments section

  • If I have to angel I will, but the person who flakes will be banned from ALL my future swaps and reported!!!

  • Have fun!

The swap photo for this is my pill bottle that I created for my partner in last swap! Be creative!

These swaps are always fun, but I'm not the best at decorating bottles. You did an outstanding job on the bottle in the picture. :)

Any ideas on shipping to partner-how to so it does not get crushed in transit and not cost a mint due to the size and what it is????

I am curious as to what sticks to the plastic so that it doesn't come off the first time a person tries to open the bottle. What have you used and how successful was it?

@kiddo47 thanks so much!

@DixieDiane I used a small flat rate priority mail box to ship my bottle in and used a small amount of bubble wrap in the box so it wouldnt break...I also put it in a ziploc bag to keep it clean as well

@njstauter The way I did the one above was I got a sheet of decorative duct tape at Wal-Mart, then mixed some clear fabric glue with glow in the dark glitter and painted it all around the bottle and let it dry...for the cap I used black paint and a mixture of clear glue and silver glitter and painted the top, then use the same clear glue to put the jewels on and let that dry separate from the bottle. I don't paint or put glue on the bottle and cap while they are together, as it will stick. If you work on each piece separately, they wont stick together. As far as I know, it was successful. I have also used deco tape, then put the same glue/glitter mixture on the bottle and let it dry and painted the cap separately. I find if you use paint or tape and then seal it with the clear glue, it holds better and the tape wont peel off

ATTENTION - I changed the sign up date to a few days later because I didnt realize I was working the day that it originally ended and I wouldnt have time to go through the profiles...so you have until tomorrow to sign up, and I also changed the send out date to a few days later as well to make up for this...thanks for understanding!!!
