Description:

This is an easy and inexpensive craftswap. Find a book with lovely images. A book you don't want to keep for yourself, because it's getting damaged! Cut the image out of the book, make it about 4"x6" and glue it on cardboard. Make sure it is stuck well to make it through the post. Send the card naked to your partner. Don't forget your Swap-Bot name and the name of the swap.

If you don't have such a book, you might find one in a thriftstore. It is also allowed to print a bookimage from internet, as long as it is printed in high quality. It's allowed (but not required) to use some sort of seal or adhesive plastic to protect your card, if you think that is needed.

I changed 4"x6" in: about 4"x6" because images not always seem to have the right size. But please, don't use an image that is way smaller than 4"x6". When you use bigger size make sure it has the right postage.

Somebody asked me what glue is used best. To be honest, for these kind of craftworks I always use doublesided adhesive foil (in The Netherlands from the brand Aslan). When I'm out of foil, I use doublesided tape, cover the back of the image fully with it. So 1) cut out the image roughly 2) cover the backside with the foil or tape 3) put the image on cardboard 4) cut it to the right size.

Perhaps people who use glue, or gluespray, can tell a bit about it?

In my experience mod podge works well, both as an adhesive and a sealant @taeniura

@GoodmorningfelicityIn the past I used mod podge for fabric and that worked very well. Thank you :-)

yes I would use mod podge both to stick and over the picture to strengthen and protect.

I have used gel medium and have had it work well. As well because it is acrylic it is also waterproof.
