Description:

Going to see how many are interested. How about doing a pin to wear that is a dotee. The pin should have a felt back on it, no stuffing but the normal dotee face and embellishments, without a hanger but has a tail. It could be pinned on the back with a little saftey pin or what ever you design. Pin size should be no larger than 2 inches long (tail just a few beads or whatnot). If you have ever done inches you can do this. When you wear her everyone will notice you are an artist and have artist friends. Making it international as it is so small it shouldn;t cost much to send. Questions? Lets try....Make 2 pins for 2 swappers (1 each) I JUST MADE ONE IN 20 MINUTES TO GIVE YOU AN IDEA ON THE 2 INCH SIZE. (SEE PICTURE ABOVE)

Great Tere and hate to miss you shopandbid. If you want to stuff the dotee a little you can I just thought it might lay better being flat. You guys are the artists.....

I was thinking that maybe we need to sandwich the face, like 2 layers of felt and some cardboard or timtex in the middle to give it some body? Is it ok if I do that with mine?

ladydy5 08/11/2008 #

Tere, absolutely any way you want to do it as long as it is wearable and cute and still a tiny dotee look. Hope others pick up your idea of using the timtex also.

May i ask what timtex is. =)

makestuff 08/12/2008 #

timtex is really stiff stuff, like what they use in the brim of baseball hats. it goes on the inside.

You can go to Walmart or fabric store and get any kind of thick insert just to stiffen it up a bit. The one i did above is just felt backing, fabric on front with a little pin on back. Next one I will do with a stiff piece inside.

Sorry... going to have to drop this one. I need to dedicate more time to making Christmas presents. Maybe I'll catch it next time :)
