Description:

Reiving is the term used to set up any ritual space. For some Kitchen Witches, who live with others, this particular room is shared and visible to visitors who may or may not be of a like mind.

We are the Priestess/Priest of this space. It is our responsibility to set it up as a way to either make requests, offer thanksgiving or simply honor the deity we serve. As a Kitchen Witch, this space is our temple where we begin and end our magick.

Reiving is clearing, cleansing and consecrating sacred space before one sets the intention for a ritual. Any sacred circle must be clear of all unnecessary bits & pieces which become the distractions getting in the way of making our magick manifested in the real world. If you spend 15 minutes each day reiving, it will change the energy. (set a timer and work for 15-no more and no less)

For this electronic swap, we have one partner and will take photos of our kitchen as a magickal space.

For each of the 7 days, we will use our cameras to record the way we change our mundane space and make it sacred. It is vital that the work of clearing, cleansing and consecrating be done with focus and intention. In truth, when we create our ritual spaces, we create a space for the Being we love most in the world.

Send all your photos at one time. You may interpret the following guidelines for your photos.

  1. Cupboards that hold ingredients (spices, herbs, cookbooks, etc representing Earth.)
  2. Pots/pans/jars/stirring utensils (cauldrons, wands, vessels also Earth)
  3. Floor (sacred ground you walk upon)
  4. Working space, wallhangings (altar top/temple representing Spirit)
  5. Towels, rags (altar cloths of the kitchen)
  6. Lighting (windows, ceiling lights representing Fire)
  7. Sink (representing Water)

The primary focus of this swap is to share where you work your magick.
