Hi all!

Let's share some New year's resolutions with each other and encourage each other to achieve them.
A New Year's resolution is a tradition, most common in the Western Hemisphere but also found in the Eastern Hemisphere, in which a person resolves to change an undesired trait or behavior, to accomplish a personal goal or otherwise improve their life.

Some examples include resolutions to donate to the poor more often, to become more assertive, or to become more environmentally responsible.

  • Improve physical well-being: eat healthy food, lose weight, exercise more, eat better, drink less alcohol, quit smoking, stop biting nails, get rid of old bad habits.
  • Improve mental well-being: think positive, laugh more often, enjoy life.
  • Improve finances: get out of debt, save money, make small investments.
  • Improve career: perform better at current job, get a better job, establish own business.
  • Improve education: improve grades, get a better education, learn something new (such as a foreign language or music), study often, read more books, improve talents.
  • Improve self: become more organized, reduce stress, be less grumpy, manage time, be more independent, perhaps watch less television, play fewer sitting-down video games.
  • Take a trip.
  • Volunteer to help others, practice life skills, use civic virtue, give to charity, volunteer to work part-time in a charity organization.
  • Get along better with people, improve social skills, enhance social intelligence.
  • Make new friends.
  • Spend quality time with family members.
  • Settle down, get engaged/get married, have kids.
  • Pray more, be closer to God, be more spiritual.
  • Be more involved in sports or different activities.
  • Spend less time on social media (such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, etc.).

In 2018 I want to find the love of my life.

In 2018, I'd like to:

  • Improve physical well-being: I always consider health the least important thing in my life until it really affects me. As a creator, when I'm facing deadlines, regardless my body conditions I just wanted to meet my goals, but many times after meeting my goals I became ill and needed to rest for a month for full-recovery. Which is time-wasting, and harmful to my health. From now on I'd like to take my physical well-being as the most important aspect to consider, still meeting project requirements while being a healthy person.

  • Be more resolute about regular exercise: I tend to find them boring but they're really helpful for me. When I was attending some sport classes I found that some classmates way older than me(like 20+ years older) have better physical condition then me. Then I realized that it is a problem. I'll exercise for 30 minutes everyday, at least.

  • Treat myself better: Like I said earlier, in order to meet project deadlines, I force myself to work when I'm in a very bad mood, I became really depressed seeing unfinished works though I still have much time from the deadline. I'll learn to relax, and learn to realize that relaxation could enhance productivity as well.

  • Learn to be more patient: I was so eager looking for success that all kinds of process looked so slow to me. But being rush would cause extra effort and lead to failure more easily, so it is very important for me to be more patient. We all need to understand that a temporary failure doesn't mean that you're doomed to be unsuccessful, it is just a state, or perhaps a very great state to learn from - enriching our experiences. Mine are fairly professionally oriented... But a bit of fun thrown in! - Expand my portfolio at work to include a new program and a new location. We are in the process of expanding and I want to do my part. I love my job. - Present at a conference. I love my job and I want to spread the word far and wide about what we do and how we do it! - Finish knitting clapotis in zauberballe! I've been procrastinating on it for nearly a decade... - Travel overseas to a conference. I love to learn how to do my job better at every opportunity. - Take my husband to New Zealand (pay for as much as I can... He deserves a treat!). It's been a project in the pipeline for a while. - Last of all... Make it to knit city in Vancouver! I love travelling and I missed it last year... I want to see all my knitting buddies!
