Description:

This swap is international and open to anyone with a rating of 4.3 and above.

You'll have one partner for which you will be making a fairy doll out of a clothespin. You must put as much effort into it as possible, making it something you would love to receive yourself.

To go along with your doll, you will write a short story letter describing her and how she lives, etc. The length of the letter must be at least 1 good-sized (not memo size) sheet of paper, front and back.

Lastly, you will send one NEW fairy item to complete the swap. This does not have to cost much. It could be an unopened pack of stickers, a piece of inexpensive jewelry, a new barette, a pack of stationery, a magnet, a keychain, a cute pack of buttons, a charm, a pen, a cellphone strap, etc.

I am really excited about this swap, and think it will be alot of fun, so I hope to see alot of sign-ups! :D

*Remember: Comment here when you receive and rate when it is time to do so.

Note I can no longer angel swaps for flakers who do not send. I am sorry, but I have had to angel SO MANY lately and I simply do not have the time or the money to do so anymore, so PLEASE be fair and send what you owe to your partner!

I love fairies and I collect them for my infant daughter. This will be a unique addition to her collection!!

I just scored a big bag of unused, old clothespins while I was out thrift shopping...this will be fun!

I adore them too! That is a really nice idea you have to collect fairies for your daughter. :) What a lucky girl!

I am very happy to see you in this swap! You inspired it in a way with your awesome fairy bower one (which, by the way was my favorite swap here so far!) :D I am jealous over your clothespin find... they are next to impossible to find here... I ordered most of mine off e-bay, and my friend in NY sent me some that she found at the dollar store there. I will be going out there next month and you can bet that I plan to stock up while I'm there! ;)

Amanda~ LOL! I love your enthusiasm! :)

Thanks, Serene_serenade...I enjoyed that swap, too! Definitely check out the dollar stores -- I just saw packages there, too!

Coffeelatte~

Our dollar stores (and Walmart) only have the kind with the spring... all sizes and colors, plastic and wooden ones... but NO kind that I need! :/ That's Ohio for ya, I guess! ;oP

OK...today I was in the dollar store and saw FOAM clothespins -- specifically for making dolls! They come in brown, dark blue and orange. Anybody want some?

4getmenot71 04/ 6/2007 #

Foam??? What do they look like?

Coffeelatte 04/10/2007 #

Do you know the clothespins that have kind of flattened heads (instead of round)? That's how the foam ones look. They have the two prong "legs", but are more squared at the top. It makes I nice flat surface where you can put a face but I think the old-style round heads are prettier. If I get back over there I'll pick up a pack - there are 4 in the package along with some flat foam sheets. For $1, it might be a fun supply set to have around.

Coffelatte~

Ahhh, I think I know what you are talking about now. They do sound interesting! I know what you mean, though... the round ones look nicer because they are actually the shape of a head. :)

I've already started on making thes and would happily make 1 or 2 more fairy art dolls (from clothespins) if anyone else (Who isn't my partner for this) wants to do a trade 1-for-1. Just contact me via swap-bot, if you're interested later.

those brown foam pegs would make lovely dark skinned fairies. We don't have foam pegs out here.I love making peg dolls. Bev

I found the round head clothespins at the Dollar Store. No springs.

I'd love to do this swap again sometime!

I clicked the SENT link today, but didn't mean to! I haven't sent yet, and will be doing so either tomorrow or Thursday...just wanted to let you know I did that by accident!

I'll post when it actually does go out!

Coffeelatte 06/18/2007 #

I almost forgot to come back and post...my partner's doll HAS gone out. I'll be posting photos in my Flickr photostream...

My package will go out this weekend -My beloved dog had to be put down and I have not been doing well for over a month or so.

I did begin a craft last month making different fairies I seen on the show "Creative Juice" on DIY network. I love fairies of all kinds.

I never received my fairy, though - I dont know who my partner was - I would love to receive it - even if its late.

Smiles, Donna (ENCHANTED)

To Brokenfaedoll

You put an awesome package together in regards to the clothespin fairy doll. I was so impressed by your craftiness and the story behind the doll was awesome.

Thank you for sending it on and I filled out the rating.
