Description:

I learned of the coolest technique today using packing tape to make the neatest semi transparent images that you just won't believe until you try it out. And the coolest part is that they are so easy to make. I am so excited I wanted everyone to go and try it out right now! The instructions are here http://www.wikihow.com/Create-a-Photo-Transfer-With-Packaging-Tape. Once you have made your images I want you to turn them into super cool ATC's. Hearts should be awarded if you feel they have gone that extra mile either by making you extra cards or really tailoring the cards to your likes. Newbies welcome but they must have a really well filled out profiles others must have 4.8 and no no-sends in the past 3 months. I reserve the right to ban those who don't fit the criteria. The cat picture above is an image on packing tape! You will make 3 cards for each of the 2 participants assigned to you,

I've known about this technique for ages and always wanted to try it--well if I sign up for this now I'll HAVE to learn it! HA! Thanks for a great swap idea!

would this work using a magazine page? Sounds like allot of fun and maybe even a good project for kids.

It works great on magazine pages and images. I was actually going to host this swap in a few weeks after I returned from vacation and still might. To simplify the technique. I just lay the clipping, image side towards sticky side of tape...and allow it to soak in a sink or bowl of warm water (which Ive found works best) for at least 5 min. The longer it soaks the easier it is to remove the paper. Any images that are white in the clipping, end up transparent. Its a lot of fun and I've done it w/ children. The hard part is the patience while it soaks and "transfers" onto the tape. This swap is on my watchlist for now.

Oohhhh! I am watching this too. This sounds interesting! But I might not have time yet... I think I will have to wait for plaidgiraffe to return from Vacation! Have a good time! :)

And remember, it isn't glueing a photo on the card and putting packing tape over it! :o(
