Description:

It seems like every time I am in the thrift store I see abandoned souvenirs from lands far, far away and I can't help but wonder how it wound up sitting on a shelf near me.

In this swap, you find one dislocated souvenir and re-locate it to your partner. Make sure it is in good condition and dust it off if it needs it. Send something you would not mind receiving. The best place to find souvenirs (that I have found) are with the shelf-sitters, knick knacks, dust collectors...whatever you choose to call them.

Look around your local thrift stores and see all the fun places that someone else besides you got to visit. Who knows? You might even inspire someone's next vacation!

It is sender's choice since no one has any control over what souvenirs get dropped off at thrift stores.

It is an international swap so it is open to all members of Thrift Store Treasure Hunters.

If you have any questions about this swap, please feel free to contact me!

Happy Searching & Swapping!

This sounds really fun! I'm always seeing souvenir plates at my local Hospice store. I'm gonna watch for now and make sure I can find something really good. :)

Hey, @grimmlynn would a t-shirt from a vacation spot count as a souvenir? I would, of course, ask my partner for their desired size, and such, but want to make sure it can be something like that, not just knick-knacks....

I would say a t-shirt would definitely work. Oh, and you could turn it into a tote bag and then you could be my partner. LOL. J/K. I would definitely check with your partner first to make sure of their size and as long as it is in good condition it is fine.

are souvenir books ok? The ones you get from a country with loads of pictures and stuff??

grimmlynn 10/10/2009 #

Souvenir books are definitely okay!

I bought a very cool souvenir plate at the Goodwill the other day. It's from Las Vegas, but it's soft pink and the pictures are kind of vintage, not bright and gaudy like the plates you see now days. I'm thinking it's from the early days of Vegas, but it could just be new and made to look old. Anyway, I snagged it!

I haven't found anything completely amazing yet. Oh, dear. I suppose I will just have to go to more thrift stores. LOL. How dreadful...Yeah, RIGHT!
