About Me

I am a fun mom of 4 who loves getting surprises, and also loves GIVING them..I am a person who spends an inordinate amount of time commiserating over the details of a gift..I think it's a form of obsessive-compulsive disorder (haha)...I have a miniature dachshund for a pet, and I am a DJ at a radio station as a profession. Music is a passion for me, and I can't imagine life without it!!

Favorite Music

I love Blues and Jazz, but I am very VERY musical, and really love all music...all of my children play musical instruments, my oldest son is 22 and is a professional musician, so you can't go wrong for music with me..I love it all.

Favorite Books

I really love reading!!!!!I am a HUGE fan of British murder mysteries, I love Ruth Rendell, Deborah Crombie, MC Beaton, and Elizabeth George, among others. I recently discovered an author named James Burke, whose main character is a New Orleans cop, and his writing is so prolific, you can just feel yourself in his scenarios. Can you tell I am an English Minor? I have a Master's degree in Communication....Reading and writing have always been a passion of mine, and I am pretty open to most literature.

Favorite Television

I love reality police shows, like "First 48" and "Crime 360"..I am also a huge Seinfeld fan, and I miss it..Love the reruns, though..it never gets old! I really really REALLY love the show "Little Britain" on BBC America...I recommend it if you haven't seen it..you will laugh till you pee.

Favorite Movies

I like suspense movies, and comedies. I loved "Pulp Fiction"...and also liked "Borat"..I have a weird sense of humor...

Favorite Crafts

I love jewelry, socks, mittens, purses, and quirky, gothic/pagan themed items...I really enjoy "wiccan" or witchcraft themed items.

Wish List

I love anything quirky and occult/pagan themed... such as: Witches/witch related items

thrift store wish listth

I deleted my list by accident, trying to add to it, so I am sorry if you haven't had time to look at it!! I will try to re-create it..if I can remember what I put on here!

--a cool hat! (any style)

--handmade pottery piece (cup, bowl, whatever)

--tote bag/purse

--scarf (either winter type or silky type)

--cool/interesting hat/gloves (winter)

--funny/interesting looking coffee mug

--jewelry (pins, earrings, necklaces)

--something with moon/stars on it

--a shawl of some type

--a picture or print with a musical theme

--pretty or interesting candle holder of any type/size (from candle sticks to votive, anything in between)

--out of the ordinary or fun socks, or slipper socks

--a bowl (wooden, glass)or basket to keep my keys in (so I don't set them down and lose them, AS USUAL...haha)

--something with a music or musical note theme (instrument knick knack, etc)

keep in mind, I am pretty easy to please, and I know how thrift stores are..sometimes you just find something so great, you can't believe it! If you just find something like that, not on the list, that is great! I am very easy to please, so feel free to stray from the list...It is just a few suggestions for you...

Response: I am glad you liked them....That hat really was a labor of love, so I hope you can "feel the love" eminating from it...(hahaha) I am in physical therapy (started my first session today") after the surgery, but my left arm really only bends a couple of inches either way, and my fingers still don't work so well, so maybe I will start working on another knitted hat as a way to get my fingers moving..hopefully it will go a bit faster, since I was just out of surgery when I finished yours.... Response: I am so glad you enjoyed the card!! We are big "NASA fans" too...my son is in Civil Air Patrol, and we are lucky enough to have a kid in our squadron whose father is in the air force, so our little group of 10 kids got to fly on a KC135 cargo plane down to Kennedy this past summer, with the "dad" piloting the plane,.and they were able to take turns watching from the "belly" of the plane while they refueled some fighter jets in the air, while enroute..what a great experience for a kid! My son will never forget it...they had a blast, and walked around the Kennedy Space Center in uniform all day, got treated "special", and then stayed overnight for 2 nights at Patrick Air Force Base in Cocoa Beach, ate at the mess hall, the whole military experience...Lots of fun for a bunch of teenaged boys (and one girl, too!!) Thanks for such a fun pkg. I got the reuseable tote bag for the Thrift Group Scavenger hunt tag. And the cemetery photos are very cool. And I haven't had a chance yet to listen to the CD you sent, but I am so looking forward to it. And the list you sent explaining what you were sending and why, was a very nice touch.
